I received my BS in Nursing from the University of Florida in 1992 and spent 5 years as a nurse in the Navy. I decided to retire my commission after my second child was born and my husband remained as a physician in the Navy. I then stayed at home taking care of my children doing various medical related jobs while we were stationed in Spain. Upon arriving in the United States, and now having three children, I decided to start working from home doing Medical Transcription for a small company. I did medical transcription for approximately 7 years from home. I also transcribe annual meeting minutes from two major insurance companies yearly. I have my own foot pedal and transcription system. I am very comfortable with medical terminology and working independently. My children are older now and would love to work in the medical transcription field again.
