Hello, I am Terry Buchanan. I have been drawing and painting since I was very young. People always said I should do something with my art and I feel I am ready to do so more at this point. I won several art contests when I was a child, have instructed art classes as an adult and showed my work a few times. I am a mother and grandmother and have a lot of life experience to draw from. I am interested in illustrating children's books but open to other projects.

Hi, I'm an Art Educator for Young Children and have a strong background in Japanese - English translation. I was born and raised in Tokyo. I moved to NY after graduating from a college in Tokyo and graduated from Long Island University, NY with a M.A. in art. My early translation career was in the financial field. I translated loan documents at Japanese banks in preparation for FRB audits. I also worked for Japanese venture capital and investment bank. Since my daughter was born (she is 7 yrs old now), I have been translating children's books from English to Japanese as well as Japanese to English. I am raising my child in both English and Japanese school environments, and very sensible about vocabularies appropriate for target ages of children. Also, I enjoy giving Story Art classes as well as making children picture books on my own.

Below is my professional resume. I love to write more than just about anything. I am a poet, prose, rhyming, Haiku, etc. It comes to me very easy. I have written sports in the past for small town newspapers in the Dallas, Texas area. Though writing is not my vocation, it is most assuredly an avocation. I love doing it at any level and on just about any topic. The fact that I am easy to deal with, have an advanced degree and can write poetry in 3 minutes...good award winning stuff is just a bonus. I would love to hear from you. I indicate an hourly rate of 50 per hour. I earn much more than that but I am willing to work for less given the chance to write something that will get some exposure. The 50 number is even negotiable.
