Art has always played a crucial role in my life. I adore everything about art from my own process of research and brainstorming, to the appreciation of another artists work. I am very passionate about art, and as a result I try to share that passion with others. I began taking private art lessons, reading books and journals on old masters, technique, color theory, composition, etc., as well as attending summer art programs in and around New York City. In middle school I always put everything I had into my work and was recognized with awards at school art shows, local venues, and the county fair. When I was 14 years old I entered a worldwide art contest, hosted by the Lions Club Int. and placed in the top 3 with a watercolor painting about the inherent need for peace, earning me an interview on CNN. At the age of 16, I graduated high school and immediately began researching art schools and finally decided on Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach Ca. because of the school's focus on realism. I was accepted and moved across country by myself to purse my dream education. My first semester there, I painted with oils for the first time, and instantly fell in love with the medium, and now I use them, along with watercolor as my primary choice of mediums. Art is my passion and it is my hope to share this passion with students as an artist, or teacher. It is with determination, and motivation that I hope to reach my full potential as an individual and an artist.
