I am a self taught artist and have been drawing and painting all my life. I enjoyed my work as a graphic layout artist, but it was always my ambition to become a freelance artist, and in 2002 I did just this. I only exhibit once in a while, as most of my work in commission based and I have only a few paintings of my own personally, most are prints of previous commissions. I also provide tuition to small groups and individuals. I offer portraits, landscapes, buildings, etc...but my speciality lies in animal portraiture. Working to the highest detail and anatomical correctness I aim to capture the character of each individual animal. The majority of my portrait work is done using photographs, so there’s no “sitting” required. The portraits are usually in oil based coloured pencil or oil on canvas but as each piece is individual...it's up to you.
