I have transcribed for four different companies, one of which I am still with, and I am familiar with various formats and styles with time stamping if desired, always keeping the client’s best interest in mind. I am highly organized, detail orientated, and I am a quick learner, which are beneficial characteristics to have in this industry. In this cover letter, just below, I go into more detail about my transcription experience. It is something I very much love to do, and better yet, I am good at it. I would love to be a part of your team. A. Transcription experience…I have at least four [4 1/2] years experience in legal transcription, working from home for a company in Northern New York for a few years at two separate times in the last eighteen 20 years. I found that it is the best job for me, what I really enjoy doing for work. I've also worked with a small transcription service/team, and still do some work for them from time to time. I also worked with some law enforcement transcripts with Para-Plus Translations for about six [6] months, which I very much enjoyed, very interesting material. I am now working with Net Transcripts Inc. doing General Transcription for them, but work is slow right now with them and I am in need of some work to do to be able to make some money. B. Whether I own and use a pedal…I still have the foot pedal that I used for the company I worked for eighteen 20 years ago, and each of the other few I’ve worked with too, which is in great condition and will continue to be using for future jobs. C. Availability…day, evening, weekend, overnight…I am very flexible to work any time of the day or night and weekends. The more work I have, the better. D. Version of Windows I am using…I have Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. E. Type of internet connection…I have the highest speed internet unlimited bandwidth, and am always online and on my computer, so you would definitely be able to get a hold of me very fast either by internet/email or my cell phone. Even when I'm not at home I am able to get online with my phone too so basically I am able to work anywhere, literally. I purchase a wifi hotspot for my phone so that I am able to get on my laptop, which I always have with me also. F. My time zone and state of residence…My time zone is Eastern, I am located in Central Florida. G. Hours per week I can devote to this work…I am willing to do forty [40] hours a week, even more than forty [40] would work for me. The more work I am able to do the better. I am very ready to take on more work in the kind of jobs I really love to do and hopefully be able to make a good living with it and be able to stay at home while doing it. H. Legal, administrative or secretarial experience…I only worked in administrative/secretarial fields since I was fourteen 14 years old, the second I got my working papers...it's mostly just in the last ten 10 years that I have had to take on other types of jobs because I was needed more at home with my mentally ill son at the time. He's doing much better now and doesn't need my help as he used to anymore and is pretty much full grown now so now I am able to do the kind of work that I so love to do and devote myself into it completely. The first transcription type of work that I've done was with a legal transcription company doing transcription for them at home, Associated Reporters Intl. Typist Inc., and then general transcription with a small transcription service, 3D Transcription Services, and then back to legal transcription again with Para-Plus, and now doing general transcription again with Net Transcripts Inc. I do prefer doing legal transcription, but I am definitely willing to work with general too. I, Why I want a work at home position…I need this kind of work and to be able to work from home so I am able to stay at home to be able to take care of my own children instead of trying to find good babysitters. Transcription is what I love to do, and better yet, I'm good at doing it. I do have a 1 1/2 old baby right now, and really have loved being able to stay at home with him, and be able to work too. He is a very good baby and lets me work while he plays. I want to be a stay-at-home mom, but better…I prefer to be a Working-stay-at-home mom. Turnaround time…I can do at least an hour audio a day. It also depends on how clear the audio is and how clear the people speak, and how much you want of the uhs, ums, and stutters in the transcript. I can do verbatim and paraphrasing as you wish. If the audio is clear and not a lot of stuttering I can definitely do more in a day, like 2 audio hours each day.
