Natalia Shapira SCA http://sculpture.ndesignfantasy.com/ ARTIST'S APPROACH Born near the Ural Mountains of Russia, Natalia Shapira’s talent as a sculptor has taken her artistic career to an international level. Natalia first formal artistic training at the Sverdlovsk College of Arts (1983-1987) qualified her as a teacher of sculpture and drawing. In 1989 Natalia was accepted to Russia Krasnoyarsk University to be classically trained in sculptural art (1989-1994). Participating in several major exhibits, even before the end of her artistic training, Natalia’s successful career as an independent artist has already begun. Cultured in the classic approaches to sculpting, Natalia’s work has achieved universal appeal. In response to her wide acceptance, Natalia took her artistic career to Tel-Aviv, Israel (1996-1999). Working within artistic communities in Israel, Natalia was active in restoration, drawing, and of course, sculpting. Arriving in Canada in 1999, Natalia’s talent was immediately celebrated. Shortly after her arrival, Natalia attained a close relationship with several Canadian galleries where her sculpted works are now on permanent display. With her ever-increasing success Natalia’s original sculptures have earned their place in both international art exhibitions and private collections across North America and Europe . Mastery of form and commitment to her own style is what defines Natalia Shapira’s work. Though every proportion and gesture is considered with precision, there is a true freedom about the style in which she applies to her sculpted *****. Their full and fantastic forms reflect the carefree feeling about them. Possessing a dream-like quality, they are truly embodiments of the artist’s imagination. Working on a small scale in natural materials lends a sense of intimacy to her sculptures. These robust figures also possess a confidence, which spurs a sense of admiration in the viewer; an admiration that marks Natalia Shapira’s sculptures as undeniably attractive. In 2004 was admitted to Society of Canadian Artists . Natalia Shapira currently lives and works in Toronto. I am an English graduate student with a background in teaching and tutoring. I received my bachelor's degree in English and philosophy from Western Kentucky University in 2010 and am currently attending the University of Mississippi for my master's in 20th century American literature. My time working as a teacher and tutor has given me a great deal of experience with editing and revision. Additionally, I have composed numerous essays and creative works, some of which I have presented at local and national literary conferences. Along with my professional credentials, my hobbies might also be of interest. When I lived in Kentucky, I was an avid brewer of homemade beer. Thus, I have extensive knowledge regarding brewing processes and beer and beer production in general. I also dabble in comedy writing, and I regularly perform stand-up routines at a local bar.

Hi, thanks for visiting me. I'd like to tell you a little bit about my writing experience. I was editor and contributor to the teen section of a previous Faithwriters’ magazine. You can check that site’s archives at, www.faithwriters.com, for examples of those articles, as well as other submissions listed under my name, Toni Smothers. I have also answered hundreds of questions for www.gotquestions.com . I recently did two blogs for Austin Outdoor (December and January). I have information on my website, www.writingforthemaster.com and my blogs, (One is about homeopathy and health issues, the other is christian oriented). I have several other writing examples at www.toniwriting4jesus.blogspot.com. I was published in Total Health magazine, and Let’s Live magazine on the subject of homeopathy. Additionally, my human interest piece, “Nobody Shoots at Boone Anymore,” was published in a travel magazine entitled, People in Action.( All of these articles were hard copy). Thanking you in advance for your consideration, Toni Smothers
