joannalenau@gmail.com www.lenaustudios.com Lenau Studios is an Illustration studio based out of Michigan. For my entire life, I have been painting and drawing. I've also always enjoyed reading books and stories for children, and I will probably never outgrow this. Long before I even had children, I was collecting stories and books for my own entertainment! Currently, I am a student at Kendall College of Art and Design, and when I'm not there working towards my Bachelors in Illustration, I can be found watching Korean soap operas, sketching, baking apple pies, reading, cooking up a batch of Thai curry, sewing, knitting, playing music, hanging out with my son or spending time with my husband. • Graduated from Ferris State University with an A.A.S. in Graphic Design. • Student at Kendall College of Art and Design from 2011 to present working towards a Bachelors in Illustration. • Live artist at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum during ArtPrize in the fall of 2012. • SkillsUSA state Champion at the State Level in the spring of 2009. • Awarded the Portfolio Scholarship from Kendall College of Art and Design • Awarded the Michigan Competitive Scholarship from Ferris State University

I am 36 and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I have a natural talent for it. In 1994 I designed the tee-shirt for my high school track team. Also in 1994 I was a member of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America). I entered the Colorado State drawing competition, representing the organization. I placed first and went on to Nationals and placed third there. Drawing is something that I have always loved to do. I am now seeking the opportunity to draw professionally. I have an art studio in my home and to be able to draw and make money doing it, that would be a perfect career.
