EDUCATION B.A., Theater Arts, Minor: Art - 2009 Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, Winona, Minnesota EXPERIENCE I have worked with graphic design projects both on my own and in course work for the past ten years. Work includes original designs and adaptations of children’s characters. I have designed theater costumes, album covers, forum avatars and wallpapers. As a theater major I was trained to recognize and analyze all aspects of theatre, including costuming, set design and painting, and framing a scene to create memorable images. While in college a semester was spent in London regularly going to theater productions, performing, and going to art museums weekly to study classical pieces from all over the world and modern art. I have been trained as an Iconographer and continue to produce Icons. College Intern – August 2009 to May 2010 Walt Disney World, Orlando Florida I have worked in Fanstasyland merchandise during my internship. My responsibilities include responding to the needs of guests, helping them locate the right merchandise, even outside of my own shop. I have worked with guests to locate the item that would most please them, sometimes having to communicate and figure out guest needs when they spoke limited to no English. My responsibilities also include keeping the shops and stock rooms organized, safe and clean. When the shops ran out of an item it would be my responsibility when stocking the store to select another product that fit the theme of the surrounding items and that we had enough of to fill the empty space. I have worked with guests in entertaining upset children, giving directions, and spotting guests that need assistance but are too unsure to ask. All cast members are responsible for some custodial work, which ranged from dusting to guarding spills until a custodial cast member with the appropriate supplies was available. My theatrical background and past experience with customer service helped me to do my job effectively while still remaining pleasant and entertaining. * During my College Program, the Disney work ethic and attitudes toward guests and other cast members have become engrained in me. * I have designed logos and business cards for Walters Criminal Law in the Twin Cities and Wintering Law Office in Rochester, Minnesota. CAREER OBJECTIVE My career objective is to work utilizing my artistic and theatrical talents. SKILLS * Graphic Arts * Fine Arts * Costume Design * Theatrical Makeup ACTIVITIES AND HONORS * Graduate, Saint Teresa Institute for Leadership & Service for Women, Saint Mary's University 2005 to 2009. I was a member of the Institute four years serving on various service projects and developing leadership skills. TRAINING Walters Law Firm. Designed business cards and website, using Dreamweaver and Illustrator. Wintering Law Office, October 2010 to present. I have been trained to open, sort, and scan mail and know which pieces need to be copied to a client, what needs to be filed, and what needs to be sent to the court. I’ve also been responsible for deposits to the bank and writing checks for bill payments, and mailing bills to clients. I also answer the phone, make appointments, and maintaining client confidentiality. I have also had some training in drafting court documents and will be helping train in the new full time secretary. Walt Disney World, August 2009 to present. In this position I was trained to recognize and address guest needs while also keeping an eye on the register I was assigned. I was also taught to rely on myself, unless absolutely necessary, in stocking a store, which included responsibilities such as knowing when to close the doors at the end of the night, knowing where items were in the stock room, be able to stock the store quickly and efficiently, and knowing when the best time for the shop was to take my breaks. Saint Mary's University, Winona Minnesota 2005 to 2009. In my Art minor, I have become skilled in graphic design including using Photo Shop, Paint Shop Pro, Animation Shop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Dream Weaver. I am skilled in vectoring, blending multiple imagines, color manipulation, creating light effects, creating computer wallpapers, designing journal layouts, and designing avatars/icons. I am adept in water color, oil painting, natural pigments, Russian Iconography, charcoal sketching and sculptures. * Theater Arts Major, Saint Mary's University, Winona Minnesota 2005 to 2009. I have worked in all aspects of costuming including care and cleaning of costumes; costume design; and costume construction. I have designed and constructed costume props and special effects makeup and completed renderings for theater productions. Throughout my life I have always been infatuated with how the puzzle pieces of the universe fit together. I realized, however, that these "puzzle pieces" did not always mesh, and that as a person, you had to make and fit these pieces together on your own responsibility. The above quote of my mentality seems out of place for a "description or resume", however if you are to hire someone, I feel as though it would be in your best interest to know the overall mindset of the person, rather than just the skills of a possible hiree. If what you wanted was a cheap, simple tasked job done, you could've had a robot or A.I complete it. Probably a cheaper and faster alternative as well, but you wanted someone with an independent mind to have your work be as unique to anything else you desire. Everyday, expanding on my skill set and talents, I broaden and inflate my individuality, in almost every aspect I can wrap my hands around. I am an engineering student in the PLTW program, who helps other students and peers with their work. I am a musician, both with the drums and guitar, which I write originals and perform covers. I am a nature lover who can, and does, travel for hours in the forestry, spending time with the fauna, studying the flora, and learning the intricate details that hold true for the Earth. I am a thinker, an innovater, a reader, and a writer. My largest goal in life is to reach my peak potential, both physically and mentally, which philosophers of ancient Greece saw as a requirement, and considered it a great shame if one never reached their peak by the time of their end. These, a small part of my portfolio of passions, shows my freedom of thought and desire to better not only myself, but all the work I perform. I do not claim to be perfect in any field you may hire me for, but anyone that claims to be is only looking out for themselves, with no obvious passion for what they do. What is the point of a passion, if you are already a master of the trade? There is a distinct difference between perfection and amazing work. I do not believe Mark Twain was a perfect author. He had his issues, but look at where those unique quirks landed him. As one of the most renowned writers of all time. The same could be said for William Shakespeare, for Fyodor Dostoevsky, and for Leo Tolstoy, all of whom created works of writing that has outlasted generations, influencing and changing the mindsets of thousands. This is why, as a person who wishes for their product to be unique yet still amazing in composition, should consider hiring me, for I will not compromise for my own benefit at the cost of your work, rather your work will be first priority to me. The several jobs you could consider to hire me for: Resume Writing (which I have done outside of this website already). Proofreading. Report writing. Musical tutoring (my musical talent stems mainly from the percussion instruments, such as the drum kit). Help with academic work. Consultation for possible designs (either with small scale circuitry, construction projects, home crafts, etc.). Creative thinking. Philosophical discussion and study.
