Dear Sir/Ma'am, My name is Dijeshwar Singh and I am a Photo-Journalist. I have worked in the industry for almost seven years including of freelancing work. I wish to apply to your organization as a Photo-Journalist for any vacancies that you might have. The reasons for my wanting to work in your organization are obvious. The concept and coverage of the newspaper are different than the others and there is much scope for me to be able to do the kind of photography I want. I see myself as an artist and my job is the creation of art with each click, framing, freezing solitary moments as jewels in the sky at night. Each conveying meaning, each a sampled slice of life and relevant through time. Having a Photo-Journalist with artistic merit will be beneficial to your organization, as the audience will be able to relate with news more if there is artistically rendered photographic depiction of the event as well. A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say. An artistic picture is worth a million words, I say. I would be really happy if you could give me an opportunity to work for your organization. I would give beyond my best effort to live up to your expectation. I have attached my resume containing details about my work experience. Below is the link to my portfolio. Feel free to go through it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dijeshwarsinghphotography I will be available for an interview at your convenience. Thank you. Yours sincerely, Dijeshwar Singh +91-9811-50-1219.

An 'all-round' graphic designer involved in 3-way love affair with Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator, and nearly 30 years experience in the industry. Also, a competent freehand artist, who has illustrated, designed and typeset books for various publishers. I can, however, create most types of artwork, whether digital, photographic or hand-drawn, or indeed a combination of all three, especially when every element of picture research has been exhausted, a wholly personal approach to the project is required, or the customer's budget will not stretch to photo libraries. I also believe, in a 'trumpety-blowing' sort of way, that I am one of the best column 'justified text' typesetters in the UK, holding the view that text should be as 'pretty as the picture' itself, white spaces should never be wider than the largest letter used in the sentence, and end-of-line hyphens are most definitely a last resort. I would, in fact, say that I had failed the customer if two hyphens – God forbid – should ever appear on top of one another!
