On Friday nights, I would work in the bar by cleaning tables and taking empty glasses from customers. Extra-Curricular Activities Playing music: I first started playing guitar when I was 13-years-old, and, since then, I have learned to play the drums, bass, keyboard and piano, banjo, ukulele and mandolin. I joined my first band when I was 15, and I have played in four since then. I also have created music for student films. I used to play a fair amount of shows, but I have not had as much time since I have been in college. Sports: I have played soccer for around 10 years, and I have played for numerous teams. I once received the MVP award for a tournament my high school team was participating in, and I was the captain of both my JV and middle school teams. I have also refereed indoor soccer as well as volunteering my time to coach 8-13 youths. Books, music and film: I have a strong passion for music and a wide respect for numerous genres. My favorite band of all time would probably be Modest Mouse, but I also have a huge respect for other genres like hip-hop, art-rock, punk rock, classic rock, R&B, electronic, country, folk, post-rock and rap. I am a huge science fiction movie fan. I love virtually anything made by Christopher Nolan and Stanley Kubrick. I also love the movies American Beauty, SLC Punk, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Night of the Hunter, The Exorcist and Superbad. My all time favorite author would be Hunter S. Thompson. I believe everyone who wants to pursue a career in media should read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I also really love the Catcher in Rye, Ender’s Game and the Harry Potter series.
