Reading and writing has been a part of my life since I can remember (though in the very early days, I was being read to, of course). More recently, I've been reading and writing as part of my graduate program in Health Communication, I've started taking pictures as I travel, and made flyers for friends' businesses when asked. No project is too big or small--feel free to ask and I can take a look.

Phyllis Henderson Introduction I’m Phyllis Henderson and I live in a small central Texas town located on Lake Buchanan. I’ve worked since age 15, and I enjoy staying busy. Writing is one of my favorite hobbies. I worked as a newspaper reporter, editor and publisher for more than five years. I’ve used many types of publishing software in the newspaper industry, and I’m very proficient in all Microsoft Office and Adobe software. I worked for an International hotel chain for three years as an accounts receivables associate. My billing scores were consistently in the 90+% from the first month I entered that position. I was awarded Associate of the Month twice in 2007, and as a result, I was also named Associate of the Year. I found the hospitality industry to be very rewarding, and very exciting. I met and worked with people from all over the world and I always went home feeling as if I had made many accomplishments every day. For more than 20 years my family owned and operated an L.P. Gas company in Houston and in central Texas. I held a Commercial Driver’s License and I was qualified with the Texas Railroad Commission to perform all aspects of L.P. Gas operations. In addition to making deliveries and designing L.P. Gas systems, I kept the company records and filed State and Federal tax returns. After 20 years my family sold the L.P. Gas businesses and we “retired.” I’ve enjoyed a wide verity of working experiences over my lifetime, and I’ve enjoyed many challenges. I’ve always held the belief that there is nothing I can’t do, or learn to do. I look forward to meeting the challenges you present. I am getting in touch with you because I am an AFI award-winning writer/director. I teach screenwriting at several Philadelphia universities but I am off this semester and I frequently work on projects for people all over the country. Since 2006, I have been hired to write or doctor over 30 feature film screenplays -- from thrillers and slashers to romantic comedies and dramas --- one of which was produced in NYC a few years ago and another that was optioned by an L.A. producer and is scheduled for a shoot in Philly this summer.? ?A short screenplay of mine that was produced by a commercial director in NYC just screened at the Idyllwild Film Festival in California this past winter. Another short was shot in Philly this spring. I just finished a documentary script for an L.A. producer and also wrote a doc about Bonnie & Clyde for a New York producer. Also, I am a longtime student/fan/practitioner/teacher of low-budget independent filmmaking so I strive to write screenplays for productions that are economically feasible.?
