I was reading at roughly the same time I learned to walk. Granted, that's a touch of hyperbole, but the English language has always proven to me a wondrous artistic release. I've been writing creatively since I can remember, no exaggeration there, and have developed a passable sense of grammatical propriety, a knack for narration, and a modest vocabulary. I can promise flexibility, an open mind, a wide range of subjects and an eagerness to learn. I will do everything in my power to ensure that you are satisfied with the end result, and that with a little flair, I deliver the metaphorical thousand words that suit your picture.

To Whom It May Concern: My name is Joseph Nowaczyk. I have recently graduated from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois with an Arts and Science bachelors degree in Television and Radio Broadcasting. I have taken plenty of classes in editing, and am proficient in both Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro. I have more experience with Avid. I first started learning Avid while in an ENG class, and used it primarily to make news packages for our daily news program on our station LUTN. With Avid I helped use it to create the popular student program of the 2008-2009 school year, Undecided. Undecided was voted the number one student created show in its premier year, and was the most anticipated return for its second. For the show I was the main editor, and in charge of post-production.I’ve also had training in Final Cut Pro. I’ve used Final Cut Pro to cut a documentary on local bands. This documentary went above and beyond what anyone was expecting from the class, gaining outside support from bands such as Flogging Molly and staff at Fat Wreck Chords. Outside of the television aspect, I also had a leg in the radio field. I did my internship at WSCR 670 AM The Score. I was a production assistant for The Mully & Hanley Morning Show. All of my work consisted with sound production. I am confident that I can be exactly what you are looking for in an editor position. I’m constantly working with both Avid and Final Cut Pro to do what I can and stay on top of the changes that occur in the field. I’ve included a demo that shows these skills. I am open to negotiation for my salary, and would like to work with you to figure it out. I hope what you see will help persuade you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely yours, Joseph Nowaczyk
