I spend most of my time teaching college composition courses and directing a small private school, but I like to write on the side. I have an MS in English Literature and Writing. Writing style is humorous (often sarcastic), logical, organized with strong structural cues, and very informative. Best genres are expository, argumentative, and reflective.

I am the illustrator of Stephen King’s Rose Madder and The Green Mile. I did an additional 68 pencil illustrations for a Tenth Anniversary edition of The Green Mile published by Subterranean Press. Publisher’s Weekly says, “Mark Geyer’s illustrations lend old-fashioned atmosphere.” I got my college degree in Studio Art from Florida State University in 1979. I spent many years as an architectural renderer while trying to break into the publishing market. In addition to my work in adult horror novels, I am now venturing into children’s literature. I’ve just finished illustrating The Inquisitor’s Apprentice by Chris Moriarty. It hits bookstores in October of 2011. Next October the sequel comes out and I’m illustrating that, too. My clients include Advertising Age, Chicago Tribune, Hallmark Cards, Random House, Simon & Schuster, Penguin Putnam, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Warner Brothers Home Video. I am married and live in Atlanta.
