Come mid-April, I will be finished my BA/BEd (Honours English) degree from Nipissing University, where I am enrolled in the Concurrent Education (Primary/Junior) program. I have been writing for more than 10 years, both creative personal work and academic studies and reports. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Project Coordinator, Whitewater Library Board, Beachburg, ON May - August, 2007 I worked with the Library Board to coordinate a story time for children and the three libraries in the district. Each week I would create a different theme, select books to read to the children, and then created a craft for them to complete or game to play. I was also required to keep track of how many children came each week, and their approximate ages, as well as manage their behaviour during the story time. EDUCATION Fellowes High School, Pembroke, ON Ontario Secondary School Diploma During my time at Fellowes, I headed the KEY club (volunteer work in the community), as well as spent a year as the secretary of the Student Council. Nipissing University, North Bay, ON BEd/BA Honours English - will soon be finished my fifth and final year Areas of Study: classic and children’s literature, native literature, religion, psychology, media studies, and education Throughout my years of study, I have completed 16 weeks of teaching placement in 6 different classrooms, as well as 3 weeks of service learning placement, done in a daycare centre.
