I am retired from the Elizabethton Star Newspaper, after working there for almost 23 years. I worked as the religion editor and business editor. As the religion editor, I wrote stories for the church page each Friday, featuring stories about local pastors, churches, singing groups, missionaries, events, etc. I also wrote a weekly column, Rays of Light. As the business editor, I wrote a couple of advertorial-type stories each week about local businesses which purchased ad space on that page. I also wrote stories about military veterans and local communities within the county. Previously, I worked for almost two years as the news director of WIDD Radio, doing interviews and compiling newscasts, both live and recorded. Over the years, I have edited and published several Christian newspapers. For more than two years, I have been syndicating a free weekly column called Rays of Son. Rays of Son is written in a short story format, featuring Bible characters and original characters. Rays of Son is available for websites, newspapers, church bulletins, Christian businesses and schools, etc. I also write words for Christian songs.
