I am currently in the visual and creative arts program at Sheridan College, my GPA is currently 3.86. The areas I excel in are expressive illustration and typography, but I am highly competent in other areas of art and design. I also write on a regular basis and am in the process of attempting to publish my first novel. My acquaintences view me as an excellent resource in this regard, and frequently seek my council in their literary endeavours. My fees are highly flexible and negotiable, you need simply ask. ;)

Chris B. Davey 216.255.4244 chrisBdavey@gmail.com chrisBdavey.com Dear Mr. or Ms: What began as an interest in high school has evolved into a passion and driving force in my life. The first time I cut together a video of still pictures set to music my love for editing was born. This has become the focus in my life and what I strive to make into a life long career by constantly refining my skill set. My passion for creativity keeps me focused on any project I am currently attached to. For example, though my position was editor on my team for the Cleveland 48 Hour Film Project, I stayed involved with the writer, director, and director of photography throughout the process from conception until completion. In my experience a team that works together on a project throughout, yields a greater finished project. During my time at Virginia Marti College of Art and Design, I found myself taking time out of my own schedule to assist classmates with their projects. This not only helped my classmates, but gave me a sense of accomplishment as well, seeing a project come to completion. Thank you for your consideration, Chris B. I write for one specific purpose—motivating the target audience to take positive action. That action may include requesting a special report, picking up the phone to place an order or simply endorsing a company’s brand. My background is in business-to-business although I do pretty well on the occasional retail project. The key point that separates me from other writers is selling. Most copywriters learned to write from a book or classroom. I did that too. However, I spent the first 12 years of my career on the street as a sales professional. Selling is not an easy profession. Neither is writing content designed to sell the prospect on taking a positive action. I take the experience gained from face-to-face selling situations and apply it to the copy (when appropriate); creating a product that engages and delivers value to the prospect. Writing seemed like a natural extension of sales and I applied it over the past 20 years, gaining experience as a communications manager for a nonprofit trade organization and as a marketing communications manager for manufacturers. My writing contributed to sales with a dollar value easily in excess of $40 million. That is what excites me. I live to make a difference for companies who want to grow using a smart approach to copywriting and content marketing. If this is what you look for in a copywriter, we should talk.
