I have worked in the Technical publications industry for most of my working career, both as a Technical Illustrator and as a Technical Writer. Having grown up with my head under the bonnet of a car and anything mechanical, I have a well-grounded understanding of Engineering. Working for companies that specialise in the production Technical Publications for third parties companies, I have worked across a wide range of industries. In my last position I was the Senior Technical Writer/Illustrator in the accessories Group at Holden (Australian Car manufacturer). In my role as the Senior Technical Writer/Illustrator, I work closely with the designing engineer or the subject matter expert to develop, clear concise and accurate documentation for publication to the required platform. I trained as an Engineering Illustrator at Barnfield Collage, England. This course was developed in conjunction with the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC), and I passed with credits.
