After graduating from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's degree in English from the School of Humanities in 2006, I jumped into a career in which I could put my writing skills and keen attention to detail to work. During five years at an incentive travel company, I did a great deal of travel writing for the company's catalog, and continued this on a freelance basis as I switched to a career in advertising. In addition to writing about hundreds of travel destinations, I have also proofed this catalog on a quarterly basis over the past seven years. I also worked as a freelance copy editor/proofreader for Creative Teaching Press for four years, a company that publishes educational books and materials for children and educators. I was considered the last person of several to review the material before it was published, and was told repeatedly that I would find minimal errors...yet I always found an astounding number of them! Not only did I carefully read each page, I also completed all of the exercises to ensure they made sense, and verified the answers with the answer key (which is where I found the greatest number of inaccuracies). Unlike the other editors on the projects, I went out of my way to ensure all of the information in the book was faultless. In my free time I love to read all sorts of genres, and one of my biggest pet peeves is finding errors in the published material. (My biggest pet peeve of all is when verbs and adverbs are used incorrectly!) By working with me, you'll receive excellent proofing skill and expertise, as well as a quick turnaround time. I'm a hard worker, grammarian, and word-lover who is dedicated to the English language!

I am currently studying my second year in Psychology at the University of Pretoria, in South Africa. In my 20 years on this earth, I have furthered many skills and talents. I have been a musician all of my life, starting with voice and the recorder, then moving onto many others (such as: flute, piano, guitar, violin, tuba etc...) I was fortunate enough to recieve a music scholarship in High School and still enjoy many of the musical aspects of life. I have also been involved in other forms of art. Photography has always been a love of mine and I believe I am rather good at it, although I do not have any professional education/training. My portfolio is available upon request. I am also considered quite the artist with a pencil , having designed several tattoo's, logo's and drawings of other natures. I also run a Dog Show Club, The Junior Kennel Club of Gauteng, which I was apart of its founding and have been the magazine editor since then in 2007. We have held two championship shows, where international judges have been invited and fully paid for. We are a non-profit organisation that host shows for the benefit of the dog community in South Africa. After my Psychology degree, I plan to do my degree in Marketing, as I firmly belief that is what I am good at. The reason for my Psychology degree, is that I believe that in order to sell someone something, you should know how they think, as with most things in life; the better you know your opponent the better the chance you have of winning. However I must say my true passion, is mightier than the sword. Poetry, prose and general writing is what I love to do. I have several poems published as well as a short story; I wrote a play that was considered for entry into a national drama competition but due to me not studying drama at my High School, they went with the more dramatically correct, Drama students play. My writing portfolio is also available upon request. It may appear that my only real skill is a creative flair, but I believe that all things need creativity, as with a lack of originality, who would buy a painting, see a movie or perhaps hire your services. I am a fast learner and a peoples person, whatever the task at hand, I will make sure that it is done with class and attitude, leaving behind a product, you can be proud of. Yours Sincerely Stuart Davies
