I possess an M.Ed. earned in 1974 and have worked for a total of 39 years in the field of education, 28 of those years in administrative roles as Director, Supervisor, Principal, within local, county, and state government positions. Within these positions, I have developed numerous documents related to processes, procedures, pertinent laws, grant applications, and best practices as they pertain to public education. My written work has been scrutenized closely by attorneys with expertise on school law, board members, and other leaders in the field of education, consistently receiving commendation for my ability to write clearly and concisely. My writing and proofreading skills are excellent, and I do not hesitate to consult a thesaurus or a publication on proper grammar when I feel the need. Now retired from public service, I am available for freelance work.

I possess an intense passion for writing. Words come together on paper and I just get lost in this world where letters are the only things that make sense to me. It's like a high I'm on and I'm floating. The words are my drug of choice and I'm searching for my ultimate fix. I started writing at the tender and innocent age of 11 and the feeling was exhilirating. I was first noticed by my 6th grade teacher and she encouraged me to keep writing and to never stop. By the time I was 13, I was hustling my work to other classmates and soon word spread throughout my entire school. Needless to say, I began to make some money from my sells. That was the beginning of really seeing who I was as a person because words have a way of doing just that. I take extreme pride in my work.

I am a 20 something female who is living and working in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am a creative mind and an active soul. I have several years of experience writing, most of this has been unpublished but I have a few minor publications (mostly local/school) and am working to publishing myself with in a few years. I have the drive to go further. I tend to be a creative fiction writer but have experience with non fiction, research papers, romance/*******, blog, script writing, biographical among others. I have some minor ghost writing experience under my pen as well and would prefer to gain more. I will be posting some of my work in the portfolio. I am also creative with a camera - photography and photo editing, you can see some examples on my photo blog posted in the portfolio. Full resume, examples of work and references are available. I decided against submitting a resume as the current resume has nothing to do with who I am and who I want to become! I am currently a nurse working with hospice patients and am also attending school to complete my Masters in Psychology. Working with the geriatric population is my passion and I intend to continue working with them in some regard after completion of the degree. Also, I have written articles, all nonfiction, emphasizing this population and the lessons they can teach all of us if we would just listen!!
