After graduating from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's degree in English from the School of Humanities in 2006, I jumped into a career in which I could put my writing skills and keen attention to detail to work. During five years at an incentive travel company, I did a great deal of travel writing for the company's catalog, and continued this on a freelance basis as I switched to a career in advertising. In addition to writing about hundreds of travel destinations, I have also proofed this catalog on a quarterly basis over the past seven years. I also worked as a freelance copy editor/proofreader for Creative Teaching Press for four years, a company that publishes educational books and materials for children and educators. I was considered the last person of several to review the material before it was published, and was told repeatedly that I would find minimal errors...yet I always found an astounding number of them! Not only did I carefully read each page, I also completed all of the exercises to ensure they made sense, and verified the answers with the answer key (which is where I found the greatest number of inaccuracies). Unlike the other editors on the projects, I went out of my way to ensure all of the information in the book was faultless. In my free time I love to read all sorts of genres, and one of my biggest pet peeves is finding errors in the published material. (My biggest pet peeve of all is when verbs and adverbs are used incorrectly!) By working with me, you'll receive excellent proofing skill and expertise, as well as a quick turnaround time.
