I am an environmental scientist and visual artist from the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Having studied wildlife biology locally and abroad, the final product of my art is almost always focused on nature and animals. I also create work that reflects on personal experiences with love and healing. I use oils, acrylics, watercolors, pencil, and ink to inspire a love for nature and wildlife in my viewers. During my college career, I spent several months studying wildlife in Kenya and Tanzania and much of my photography and artwork stems from the wildlife that I encountered during that time. I intend to use my art as a reminder to viewers of the powerful connection between nature and the human soul. By using expressive colors and brush strokes, I depict relatable emotions in the creatures on my canvass. I look to inspire a child-like awe and appreciation for nature and wildlife in all of us. I believe that we are all deeply connected to nature, that it has the power to heal us or to destroy us - and that we can do the same to it. Through my art and work as a scientist, I wish to bring awareness into the public eye of our deep connection to nature and the importance of protecting this planet’s wildlife and the natural environment that we all live in. My work has been featured in multiple galleries and venues across the western Pennsylvania region, and in the home of several prominent art collectors in the Pittsburgh region.
