I am a self taught pastel artist and paint portraits of all domestic pets large and small in portrait form or full body paintings. I also love to paint wildlife and I have won an award at the SAA. Recently I had a three page article written by me on how to paint a cat - step by step - in a national art magazine. I love animals and love painting - I support an animal rescue centre by fostering abandoned cats and kittens and raise funds for them through my art. I am also successfully teaching budding artists to paint portraits of their pets in pastel. This is generally at my home but sometimes at the students home. I have just started doing tuition by e-mail and by post and it seems to be quite successful.

I am 37,married and have 4 son's. I absolutely love art! I took many different art classes in high school. The classes I took were Art 9, Art 10, art history, ceramics, and photography. I also took 3 art classes outside of school on charcoal and pencil drawing. The mediums I use are, pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic paint, marker, and pen. I like mixing mediums too! I have no experience in illustrating books or any of the other art jobs, this is my first time I have tried to do this. I am disabled, because I have chronic migraines and pituitary tumor. I thought maybe I can do this around my illness. My illness dose cause problems such as my speech can be slurred when I have a migraines. I can't see right when I have one. My verbal communication has been affect entirely. People can't understand what I am trying to say verbally. I can get my point across better when I write it out, because It takes me some time to really think things out. My memory has also been affected so I have to write everything down. That's another reason I communicate by writing. On a good day I can put out 3 pieces of work or more , but acrylic paint it takes longer. It could take 4 to 5 days to get 1 painting out on a good day. A good day for me is 1 migraine a day which is most of the week. A bad day is a second migraine later that day. I only get those 1 to 2 times a week. I am a hard worker and easy to get along with. So if your interested please contact me.
