I became interested in graphic design in high school. I attended a 2 year trade program learning commercial art. I apprenticed with a silk-screen shop in my hometown and then went off to college. I graduated in May of 1996, with a Bachelor of arts from Purdue University. I was offered my first job with a packaging company later that year. During my nine year work career my tasks ranged from computer analyst to Human Resources. My design skills were used in internal marketing pieces for sales as well as giving them their first web presence. In 2006, my family moved to Michigan. At that time, I stayed home to care for my family and all the while continued my design skills by teaching myself the adobe suite package and furthering my knowledge on website design. The last 7 years have been dedicated to my children and freelance work. My portfolio consists of websites, power point presentations, brochures, flyers, logos, flash banner advertisement, and photo manipulation. I have always loved the arts, especially writing (poetry, short stories and children's books), drawing with charcoal, oil painting (flowers and landscapes) as well as my newest interest, landscape photography! The two pictures outlined on my profile were taken several years ago on a hot humid summer day and are of local landscapes right in my parent's backyard. I will be adding more photographs to my site shortly! Most recently I have taken on the challenge of writing a children's book series (4 rhyming books) geared towards 6-9 year olds. I hope to complete this writing project shortly and will make it available through Amazon for the Kindle. I was also extremely fortunate to have found a talented illustrator, Kezzia Crossley who has already committed to completing the illustrations for the entire 4 book series! Hello, all, So as you can see, my interest is primarily in art. At the moment, I'm developing my own studio, which is my life long dream. I've worked with customers to paint their custom orders. I work primarily with acrylic on canvas, as well as oil. I've also designed a few tattoos, along with intricate graphite drawings.
