I am a freelance artist living in Vancouver where I moved from France in early 1990 and until 2002 spend a lot of time living in various countries including France, the Netherlands and the United States of America. I moved permanently back to Vancouver in 2002. The world around me, as it is, is full of wonders and I never cease to be amazed and humbled by the creative force of nature and the animal kingdom, the variety of people and their inventions, their emotions and their resilience. I want to communicate through my art this sense of wonderment and I consider it my job to reflect on my canvas any subject I am compelled to paint, filtered through my eyes and yet faithful to its deep nature. I have an array of influences: Early 20 th century impressionists like Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh and Edward Manet as well as Gorges Seurat the pointillist and the Canadian icon Emily Carr. I am also greatly inspired by the old Dutch master Johannes Vermeer and most importantly by modern graphic artists such as Hugo Pratt, Jean Giraud aka Moebius, Milo Manara, Francois Bourgeon, Norman Rockwell and Bill Watterson to name a few.
