BIOGRAPHY Enrique L. Salteri is a graphic novelist, visual artist and professor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He earned a MFA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He made many art exhibitions in the U. S. A., Chile and Argentina and obtained many painting awards like the Painting Merit Award Hoyt Regional Art Show, Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, PA 2005, and Annual Painting Award, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 2003. He also achieved important art critique recognition and is frequently invited to deliver lectures and courses on narrative illustration in Argentina, Chile and U. S. A. Enrique lives with his wife in Western Pennsylvania. He was also teaching at Duquesne University, Edinboro University, Geneva College and the Hoyt Fine Arts Institute. GRAPHIC WORK Comic Publications 1980 Till We Arrive to Harania (Hasta llegar a Harania) (Script by Walter Ravanelli Peres). A comic strip published during a year in the Mendoza Newspaper and other newspapers of Argentina. Pen name: Quepez Creation of Young Ink, (Tinta Joven) by Bruzzone, Salteri and Ravanelli Peres, a weekly tabloid Sunday magazine of Mendoza Newspaper, Argentina. In this magazine the team Salteri – Ravanelli presented A Mad, Mad Bunch (Una pandilla loca, loca) a color comic with a Dadaist – surreal tone and a non-sense cartoon style. Pen name: Kepes Popalina, the P’ataphysic (Popalina, la P’ata Física) by Enrique Salteri and Walter Ravanelli Peres. A full color episode of + 50 pages was full paid by the main children magazine “Little Glass” (Anteojito) in Argentina but unfortunately never published due to economic crisis. 1990 Xol Zip (and the Abyss of Overvast) Sci- fi and fantasy comic strip was published during 2 years in the main newspaper Los Andes in Argentina. All drawings and script was made by the artist. Pen name: Martin Clavier Tycho Drumdust was a comic published in a full-page sci-fi magazine in Santiago, Chile. Name of the magazine: Asteroide (Asteroid). The main characteristic of this comic was a hard science fiction style developed in a near future in Mars. Total 4 episodes (52 pages). Enrique L. Salteri is an art professor teaching at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and he is now working in his graphic novels.
