I am a full-time freelancer who is willing to tackle anything from copy editing 100 words to writing, editing and taking photographs for lengthy documents. Following completion of a BIS Publishing degree at the University of Pretoria in South Africa I began working for Brooke Pattrick Publications as a production/sub-editor. After four years in this position I was promoted to editor of The Journal of Facilities Management and, a few months later, I was awarded editorship of Urban Green File, one of the company's flagship publications. The skills I developed and enhanced while working for Brooke Pattrick Publications include copy editing, proofreading, production editing, journalism and photography. I wrote both news stories and feature articles for the company. In addition, I took photographs to accompany these articles. Further to my BIS Publishing degree I have completed a professional photography course and a copywriting course through AAA School of Advertising. As a freelancer I have experience writing feature articles for Saltwater GIRL magazine and Supernova magazine, and editing a number of theses.

I love the richness and variability of life. I love my family and the unique take each of my children has on the world. I am passionate about education for them and for all children. Writing is an abiding interest and I enjoy the process of helping children and adults alike discover the writer within which longs to be expressed. Teaching and training in Waldorf Schools has resulted in a blossoming of my interests and abilities in music and art. My previous academic, analytic approach to learning has been opened up and rounded out. I belong to a Gospel Choir. More recently, I have been painting and participated in my first show last June. I grew up in North Vancouver, a beautiful city with mountains and ocean. I love the wilderness and urban wild places and seek them out. In university, I was on the women’s rowing team. This interest has transformed to less vigorous renditions of the sport, paddling on all manner of bodies of water. The first house my husband and I purchased was a tall, skinny, tilting four-story wooden house built in 1909. I scraped and sanded, demolished and constructed. Since then we have owned several other old houses and I have enjoyed refining their characters.

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to Recording / Editing and I believe I can give other companies a run for their money. I like clean quiet audio and I try to follow the philosophy of the once famous TELARC, the company that created CD Demonstration Discs of 'A Digital Domain' and I know it's not cheap to own preamps and digital audio converters to achieve greater than -100dB or maybe even up to -120dB or maybe even better Noise floor (-20dB A weighted noise floor) or sometimes known as 'self noise.' I use impressively sophisticated software to attempt accomplishing quality you'd expect of the expensive giants recording studios. Want to know more, contact me, give me a sample of the audio you're trying to clean up and I'll send the results back and let YOU (prospective client) be the judge. Serious Enquiries Only, Please!
