My interests are fluid and dynamic, but most often include (in no specific order): Writing, reading, doing research, climbing trees, jumping fences, sitting on roofs and watching the world go by, going on adventures, listening to music, playing music, dancing, watching movies, cooking, baking, eating delicious foods, trying new foods, smelling new smells, deep thought, shallow thought, meaningful discussion, pointless discussion, laughing, crying, exercising, video games, museums, helping others, teaching others, learning from others, camping, hiking, gardening, long showers, astronomy, chemistry, physics, philosophy, motorcycles, fishing, hunting, poker, military, counter-culture, politics, self improvement, having fun, working hard, and occasionally I'll make funny faces at myself in the mirror... :) I'd like to think I'm a uniquely free sprite, capable of anything and everything. However, I believe there is ALWAYS room for improvement. If the precious time bestowed upon us is not spent honing the worldly wisdom innate within all, then it is highly probably that said time is being used unproductively. We only have one life to live. We only have X amount of years/days/hours/seconds to make our mark on this world; to make a difference when and where it is needed most. Therefore, efficiency is of utmost importance...

I am a student studying Journalism and Media Studies, with an average above 80%. I am aiming to achieve the *** Laude pass at my credible institution. I am also willing to provide a CV if required. I am a young adult, however, this may be the exact reason I find myself so flexible and potentially mouldable to write different kinds of articles/review different material. I can provide examples of my work if required.

I have extensive experience in arts administration, fine art and film exhibition/production, and freelance journalism/film-making. Within these industries, I have worked for large, well established organizations, small, privately owned businesses and performance venues, and freelance through my own multi-media production company. My most recent writing samples (available upon request) cover the history, trends, and ever-changing technology of art, culture, design and fashion. The blogging, copy writing, web content editing and publishing skills I have learned in these fast paced industries, which are considered leaders in usage of the new media marketing and PR techniques, will translate well to the needs of a number of industries. For the past year, I have been working as Web Editor/Fashion Blogger and PR Manager for Brighton Fashion Week. Because BFW is a not-for-profit, grass roots venture, I have been lucky enough to have loads of hands on experience in developing a brand ethos and identity. Being involved in the development of an idea has allowed me ample opportunities to explore the many sides of managing, producing, and promoting a brand and event. I am a trained painter and illustrator. My specialties are animals, birds and the natural world. My preferred medium for painting is acrylic paint; for illustration, I generally use pen, ink and wash. I have been commissioned to create diverse works, from very small ink drawings and logos to a 4'x40' mural. I have recently added stained glass panel design and creation to my skill set and I am energized by the experience and outcome. I thoroughly enjoy my work and consider myself very lucky to be able to use my creativity every day to create my own windows into the world around us. I am a self-taught soft/plush-toy maker, artist and illustrator. I love to create, enjoying both the process and the results. I have designed (and handmade) soft/plush toys for kids and adults alike for 6 years, and have been designing/illustrating for the same amount of time for my own label: One Red Robin. I enjoy working on hand-drawn portraits/illustrations (watercolors, pastels and pencils) and character design, but can also work with digital tools if needed. \ The soft/plush toys I have designed and made by hand have been sold to customers all over the world, have been featured in various books and magazines, and have been included in a number of group and solo art exhibitions. My art work and illustrations have also been featured on websites and magazines, as well as bought by customers. I have also collaborated with Australian fashion stores, Sportsgirl, to design a 4 metre high fawn for their Summer 2010 in-store campaign. And have worked with Australian fashion label, Gorman, to provide illustrations for their website and other projects. You can get an idea of the range of work I am able to do through my portfolio. You can also find links to more of my work and where my work has been included/featured on my website: www.oneredrobin.com

I have enjoyed drawing and taking pictures since I was 4 years-old. Whenever I'm out and about and I see how the sun catches the clouds just right or the look on a child's face as they gaze at their parent I think "click".
