A professional with a varied background, I have a Masters Degree in English and Creative Writing as well as website and graphic design experience. Having written and/or edited articles, press releases, brochures, blogs, website content, manuals, promotional materials as well as books, my experience is quite broad. My work as Marketing Manager for Sanyo Canada required writing and editing, as did my extensive work for both a publishing company (Sun-Scape Publications) and graphic design company. As well as general business and corporate experience, I have a knowledge of health and nutrition.

I have continued to educate myself within the Graphics industry and have gone from traditional art, layout and design to their equivalent in the digital process. I enjoy learning new programs and have gone back to College (as needed) in order to further my knowledge of computer systems. Long hours and overtime are no problem. I have extensive Photo Shop, Indesign and Illustrator experience with all versions up to the current ones. I have produced full magazines from cover to cover, including Ads and supplemental Art and Photography. Ad design is a specialty of mine. In addition, I have managed 3 different graphics/marketing departments. At Studio Two (1989-1999) I was a graphic artist and pre-press expert. My job was to make sure every job was press ready with the correct color values, spreads and bleeds. I can interface with print shops because I speak their language. I can work from rough sketches, create tight renderings for comps on computer or sketchpad. I have maintained knowledge several computer business software: MSWord, Excel & Outlook. I have a strong Art backround that includes traditional painting and rendering. I can produce illustrations, cartoons or caricatures and web animations. I have designed and maintained my own website. I have worked on the monthly publication: Max Sports and Fitness Magazine as a Ad designer and Photographer. While at Power Probe I designed all advertising, Catalogs and Brochures, as well as all of the product photography. Working on tight deadlines for me is comfortable, when I’m on a project, I stay on it until it’s completed properly, including the storage and filing of all digital and tangible materials. I have produced several instructional videos for Power Probe automotive diagnostic tools. Wearing many hats as a cameraman, video editor, soundtrack creation and title animations. My hobbies include computers, illustration, photography, video (editing and camera operation) and music.

Hello! My name is Dion Harris and I've been a freelance Illustrator for about 7 years now. I'm very easy going while simultaneously being diligent and a joy to work with! I specialize in character design and illustration and strive to provide my clients with my best work each time.I can also produce work in many different styles (such as anime, steampunk, american comicbook style, ect). I like to maintain good communication with my clients during the creative phase of any project so I can give them exactly what they want. I'll normally begin with a series of roughs sketches indicating the initial image for my clients to pick from, once one is selected I'll do a more detailed sketch and submit that for approval. After the client has reviewed the image I'll make whatever changes (if any) they would like and proceed to finalizing the image. So if you would like to work with me, don't be shy! Hire the art guy!
