I enjoy and have focussed upon painting designs for greetings cards in water colour but am open to using other media. I own an etching press and, using that, have produced some designs as monoprints. I gained a BTec Ordinary National Diploma in Graphic Design back in 1992 but felt that my strength lay in illustration. If I have a style, it is fairly representational but I have experimented with abstract designs. I also delight in making cards which are personal to the recipient but, hopefully, not in an obvious way. An example being and engagement card for two friends, which depicted them as two deer looking at each other, from either side of a tree laden with red, heart shaped fruit, kitsch possibly but very well received. Two years running, I was chosen to produce the company Christmas card for the catering company which served Pinewood Studios in the UK. These were obviously film themed and great fun to do. I have also designed business cards for myself and friends who became self employed, one running a cattery, the other a gardening business, I also designed their business stationery. I would love to have the chance to design book covers.

While I excel at simplifying complex forms so they are accessible to children or applicable to crafts, I am not a cartoonist by nature. Subjects: I can’t think of any uninteresting subjects but I’m keep coming back to bugs and bones. The bugs and other small creatures are actually rather charming nature pictures. The bones are skeletal folk engaged in different activities similar to traditional Day of the Dead pictures or start as images taken from archeology or anthropology sources: bones have always fascinated me. My rates do vary some according to how much experience I have in the medium, the rate below is something of an average.
