Courtney Gates was born on may 31, 1987, in Akron Ohio. her early childhood was marked by a fascination with batman, and as such, spent mostly alone. She graduated from kindergarten with top honors, and went on to a long and colorful grind through the gears of the public school system. She attended Atlanta college of Art until they were bought out by a rival school, the Savannah college of Art and Design (they are evil), and opted to move out west to attend the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. There she obtained a bachelor’s in general fine art, and drew many pictures of small monsters and cats. Currently, she is being slowly crushed to death by a combination of student loan debt and her overweight cat bacon. Her main inspiration for her art is Carl Sagan, comparative mythology, and occult history.
