My formal education and training is in financial reporting, and having done articles for admission as a Chartered Accountant and a Registered Auditor in South Africa the bulk of my experience is in financial auditing and reporting. Subsequent to leaving articles I ventured into the commercial accounting field and eventually found myself consulting a small number of medium entities, mostly regarding their preparation for their annual audits. Those entities ranged from the South African branch of an international, multi-billion Dollar (US) budget NGO and the South African office of an intentional financial services and technology consultancy firm. I have a keen interest in writing, both fiction and non-fiction. Having written reports, business plans and budgetary motivations, I have experience in technical writing in the financial field. I am currently working on my own fictional novel, from which I am learning how to convert my technical writing experience into an easy to read, fictional style. I have a limited experience and exposure to web development (PHP and ASP.net) and software development (Visual Basic) but I view these fields more as a hobby than as a career choice.
