I am available to capture unique images on location anywhere for weddings, special occasions, portrait sessions, events, live performances or anything else imaginable. My artwork is available for purchase in the form of archival, acid-free fine art prints, gallery wrapped canvas or photo prints. To see more work or to inquire for pricing and turnaround times, please visit www.lainamcwhorter.com I started shooting seriously in the early 1990's and spent nearly a decade pursuing a degree in Fine Art Photography. In my spare time, I travel as much as humanly possible with camera in hand. My curiosity has pushed me to wander to 47 of 50 states in the U.S., Bali, Canada, Mexico and the Cayman Islands while catching every freaking concert you can imagine from the Grateful Dead to GWAR. In addition to advertisements for companies such as Goodwill Industries, my work can be seen in a variety of publications and media outlets such as Skin and Ink Magazine, HBO's original series, ABC 15, Enlightened, The Phoenix New Times, The East Valley Tribune, The Arizona Daily Wildcat, SLAM Magazine, Tempe Starving Artist Magazine and several books depicting the growing sport of rollerderby.

Summary Writing is not just something I do, it is something I AM—a Writer. I take pride in any piece I create or evaluate to become the best editor or writer to my abilities. Carefully review my credentials, I am willing to learn whatever is needed to be taught just to follow my dreams. Experience Dollar General December 2009-August 2010 This being my first job, I was responsible for main cashier duties and cleaning. I learned a lot of customer service references and how to work my way up from the bottom to the top of management. I decided to decline the manager position to attend college a few months before my acceptance into Huston-Tillotson University. Huston-Tillotson University August 2010-May 2014 In August of 2010, I began working as a student aid at Huston-Tillotson. There, I planned events—such as lectures, campus tours and concerts, and Greek life.. I did this until 2012, when I moved to a Resident Assistant in the Women’s Dormitory. As an RA, I managed an entire floor alone that was resided with first year students. My theme for the young ladies until I graduated was “Self Confidence,” where I periodically planned many mentor programs and events to help the young ladies value theirselves in more ways than one. Tate Publication June 2012-Now In June of 2012, I signed a contract with CEO Richard Tate, founder of Tate Publications, to release my book to the company for distribution and sales. The book is entitled, “A Soul Under God Cannot Be Destroyed,” which is an autobiography. The sequel to the book, “Like a Diamond in Black Oil,” is currently being finalized Education Leander High School 2006-2010 In 2010, I graduated top of my class under the Texas Scholars’ program with a GPA of 3.2. Huston-Tillotson University August 2010-May 2014 I am a recent graduate of Huston-Tillotson University, where I studied English and Professional Writing and received a minor in Secondary Education. On the campus, I was fluently involved in Greek Life, Student Activities, and mentor and community service projects. I graduated top of the English Department with a GPA of 3.0. Texas State University August 2014- May 2016 I will be studying at Texas State University, online, to receive an MA in Technical Communications. Publications “900 Chicon” Recently, I was published on the front of “900 Chicon,” a literary magazine published by Huston-Tillotson’s English Department. The magazine is locally known throughout the East Austin Area and HT’s community where this year we tackled the theme of “Keeping East Austin.” Other than being featured in the magazine, I also served as lead editor to make sure the submissions from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community leaders were precise and correct for this year’s theme. Dear sir/madam I am trained in Graphic Design and illustration, and have completed projects for small businesses and individuals. Currently, I am working on a six month contract with the True Volunteer Foundation on their “Empowerment through education” campaign. I have been instructed to head the design project, due to my graphic design skills. So far I have designed banners and posters as effective advertising for raising poverty awareness. I am highly experienced with Adobe CS4 programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Dreamweaver, HTML and CSS. I have also had many opportunities to develop my skills in typography, page layout and vector layer imagery skills through designs for businesses and business associates. In addition, I hold a certificate in I-media web design, achieving a Distinction for my quality of work. As a professional artist, I am very keen on creating distinctly innovative design ideas and illustrations. My unique and creative flair was recognised through a collection of my own works displayed by “Showcase London”, which are a well known art gallery situated in East London. I feel that my alternative work experience and the responsibility I have undertaken has greatly helped developed my inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills. My previous management roles with William Hill and Waitrose presented numerous situations to develop my problem-solving, time-management and leadership skills. It is my conviction that working with your firm will provide an exciting opportunity for me to employ these skills whilst continually refining my knowledge and experience within the industry through working both independently and within a team. I am young, enthusiastic, hard-working and passionate about design and illustration, and I very much hope to demonstrate that I will be an asset to your firm. Please visit my website to view an online portfolio of my work: www.themessageart.com Thank you for your kind consideration of my application. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information. Yours sincerely, Marlon J Huggins
