As a recent grad from the the Graphic Design program at Johnson & Wales University, in Providence, RI, I have spent the last three years immersing myself in design projects. I have completed many courses, but I have honestly learned most of my skills through working on client-based projects on and off campus. Graphic Design has become so much more to me then I originally thought possible. For me, it is no longer a nice design on a piece of paper, but a way to communicate, a way to catch peoples’ attention and a way to influence people. I have worked extensively in InDesign, creating plans books for various ad campaigns, as well as informational booklets and brochures. I also have experience in Illustrator and Photoshop while creating campaigns for on campus organizations. For the past three months I have been freelancing at Arnold Worldwide, as a layout artist, working on clients such as Carnival Cruise Lines, Sovereign Bank, and more. While working here I have learned tons of new and exciting things that will follow me into my next career. I am very interested in working for your agency, whether it be a paid internship, freelance opportunity, or contract work. I hope to hear from you soon, my resume and portfolio is attached. KEVIN ANSTIS-ARTIST Kevin has worked as a professional artist for more than 25 years. He works mainly in pastels, a medium he finds very “forgiving” with texture and softness that brings life to the subjects. Kevin also combines watercolour with some of his work to enhance the effects of the pastel and give it even more depth. His unique work is easily recognisable for the use of a very soft colour scheme as well as a touch of romanticism and drama. Kevin’s subjects vary from skyscapes to wildlife, marine and coastal vistas. Kevin also shows great interest in Marine Art, which receives inspiration from his work as an archivist and researcher at the Naval Historical Society of Australia at Garden Island, Sydney. Another way for Kevin to act out historical events and dramas is by creating Flat Tin Figurines, a traditional folk art form from Germany, which he discovered in 1995. Kevin also is any accomplished model maker who has worked on number commissions for maritime museums including The Australian Navy as well as private clients. . Kevin’s solid artistic craftsmanship is based on years of study. Kevin attended Seaforth TAFE between 1979 to 1980 studying painting, life drawing, colour and design, photography and art history as well as the School of Creative Arts in 1985, where he besides the usual topics also studied graphic design, advertising and drama. He received a Certificate of Fine Arts as well as a Diploma of Creative Arts. He added to his arts education by attending years of private tutoring with well know artists such as Brian Agnew. His drawing and painting skills were enhanced during his years as a freelance animation assistant with Channel Nine, ABC as well as for Disney Australia. A major influence in Kevin’s artistic development was his time as artist in residence at Henning International Galleries in Balmain between 1990 to 1995 where he participated in 22 exhibitions with other resident artists such as Pro Hart and Ken Duncan. His works were sold to a number of famous homes. Buyers included the daughter of Russel Drysdale and family as well as the Federal MP Brain Cadman. Since 1995 Kevin has exhibited in numerous local and state exhibitions. You can expect a strong emphasis on story telling, great writing and relevancy with the topics of the day if you have me do your Public Relations work. Your story will be the star of the day, helping you achieve the publicity to increase market awareness. On the other hand if storm clouds have blown in I can guide you on to a path to minimize or soften negative news. Come join me in my transition from reporter to PR/Media expert after more than 25 years working as a journalist, most recently as an anchor/reporter for the CBS TV station serving the Dallas Fort Worth, TX market. With that much broadcast time I've arguably developed a powerful understanding of how to communicate in the media and will use it to teach you how to be effective communicator for TV, the web or good old fashioned radio. Speaking of radio, some might say I have fairly decent delivery that I use for voice over work.
