Born in Lisbon in April 10, 1977, Victor Castro grew up on the beaches of Southern Portugal and skateboarding through Lisbon’s south side. His uncanny ability to dismantle and reconstruct the world around him has bounced this aries sign individual around the globe as a musician and as highly coveted international sound engineer. Never afraid to try something new, Victor chased his dreams into the film and music industry. In 1998, Victor threw all caution to the wind; he quit his economics course in college, sold everything he owned and flew to England, to attend the SAE Institute. Working odd jobs to perfect his English speaking skills, Victor put himself through school as he studied music production and sound engineering, specializing in sound design and audio post-production and original sound track composition. Launching into a highly successful career as a Music Director, in the last decade Victor has composed hundreds of jingles, original songs and compositions for several feature films and award-winning commercials. Having climbed to the top of his career as a multi-award winning Music Director, Victor Castro stepped behind the camera lens and made his directorial debut in 2009. Living in the heart of NYC, he attended an intensive film director program at the New York Film Academy and met his wife, a NYC writer, historian and political activist. Victor’s visionary talent and eye for film landed some huge names in his first year as a Commercials Director, with clients such as McDonalds, Vodafone, Zon, Compal, Millennium Bank, Barclays Bank and Maxmat, to name just a few. Having worked in the film and music industry for over a decade, Victor has developed a huge clientele base, with excellent working relationships with hundreds of people throughout the industry, such as Leo Burnett, JWT, BBDO, EURO Rscg, Young & Rubicam, Norma Jean, FCB, Wieden and Kennedy, etc… Ad agencies and crew alike give rave reviews when working with Victor Castro, noting some of their most recent successful ad campaigns accredited to Victor’s work. Victor Castro is currently living between Lisbon & NYC, aiming for international representation as Commercial and Film Director.
