I am a 3rd year Undergraduate Arts student, majoring in English Literatures and minoring in History and International Studies. I am planning on undertaking a Postgraduate course in Proofreading. I have done some paid freelance proofreading for other students at my university, as well as some editing. I am currently employed by University of Wollongong, as both a tutor and a study session facilitator for English students. I am interested in having more freelance proofreading work, as this is my desired field for my career. I know that I don't have as much experience as others on this site most likely do, but I have to start somewhere so please give me a chance, I won't let you down.

I have impeccable English skills, in grammar, vocabulary, and I also have significant computer skills. These computer skills involve expertise in Microsoft Word/Google Docs and familiarity with most text editors, adequate spreadsheet skills and basic programming/HTML ability. I have some experience editing for online websites/wikis and offer line editing services to an online fiction writer, albeit small-scale. As such, I am able to adapt between grammatical and writing styles while preserving the overall tone of the document. I usually prefer to be anonymous online, so creating a profile here is a large step for me personally. I enjoy reading when I have time, mostly science fiction/fantasy and general fiction. I also enjoy music of all genres, playing a number of instruments at a decent level. In terms of writing, I am actually writing my own fantasy novel that I intend to polish up and publish at a much later date. I also enjoy creative writing from time to time, but nothing I consider adequate enough to create a portfolio of.
