Hello! I’m Christopher Barlow and I’m a UK based Artist, Actor and Writer. OR a Jack of trades you might say. I’m a creative soul and a good ideas man. I excel in my fields of work. I can draw, illustrate, sculpt and paint. I have designed and sculpted creatures for independent films, designed and built puppets for a multitude of professional theatre companies and I have been hired to make props and even some costume design. I also design and sculpt a variety of creatures and fantasy/sci-fi type characters. I have worked on individual commissions, contracted and just for fun! I have worked as an illustrator and have recently been working on a children’s picture book. In my other line of work, I work heavily in the theatre, as an actor but also I have branched out as director and writer. I have written for various companies including some comedy work for a well established TV comedy production company. My work includes comedy, musicals, classics, voice overs, TV and film. It may seem strange to have what may seem very individual types of skills, but actually these tend to work seamlessly together. For many productions I have worked in as an actor I am often hired before to work as a designer, props and puppet maker or script editor. As a director or workshop leader, my art skills have been essential in designing the production, costumes, puppets and props. At the end of the day art is art, the creative impetus is the same it’s just expressed in different mediums. I have very much found with illustration and character sculpture that my acting work is hugely effective in my understanding and developing of a character on paper. The best way to understand my work is to view my website www.cbarlow.co.uk . Thanks for reading and all the best.
