Thank you for visiting my website. I began my career as an illustrator shortly after graduating with a degree in graphic design and illustration in 1988. Every day you will find me working in my second floor studio either in front in front of my Mac computer or at my easel with my painter palette. I am perfectly at ease working in both traditional as well as digital mediums. I look forward to creating your illustrations. Sincerely, Brock Nicol www.brocknicolart.com

I will soon be graduating from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia with a degree in English with a concentration in creative writing, as well as a degree in history. In my senior year, I juggled a creative honors thesis in English (394 pages) and an analytical history thesis (59 pages), was the vice president and co-editor of a speculative fiction literary magazine, and participated in National Novel Writing Month. Needless to say, I have the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize writing projects. Both English and history classes provided me with creative and analytical editing and proofreading experience. In classroom workshops, we strived not only to correct grammatical and structural errors, but to make a story, poem, or paper as clear and well-written as it could be. Along with classroom experiences, I spent a semester as an intern at Can of Worms Enterprises in London, UK, proofreading children’s books and writing back-cover copy, advertisements, and website content. As the vice president of a speculative fiction magazine, I read, reviewed, and edited thirty-five story and poem submissions in three weeks in order to meet the magazine’s production deadline. My passion for words has been long-lived and well-tried. Throughout my life, I’ve immersed myself in reading and writing. I hope to continue providing well-written content wherever there is a need for it.
