I have worked in the publishing industry for several years. My previous employer was a small publishing company named Counting Coup Press, where I worked as an editor and an assistant to writers looking to adapt their novels to screenplays. In total, I have worked on seven scripts for these writers. My strengths are knowing how to cut a book while staying true to the original voice, adapting books into scripts and finding the right tone for any project.

I’m a digital artist, photographer, 3D illustrator and 2D/3D concept designer. From 2001 until 2006, I was employed as a CG modeller, previsulization animator and lighting artist working in the United States visual effects industry. Previous to this, I had spent around eight years in the UK games industry as a concept artist, asset modeller and FMV/art director. I also have experience creating storyboards, practical models and 3D advertising & promotional imagery. In all, I have over 25 years experience working in visual media (over 16 years working with digital media). I currently specialize in freelance creature and character design. I work from 2D sketches and develop the final concept design into a fully textured 3D model which can be animated, rendered and viewed from any angle.

My name is Dan Donaldson, a kick *** Motion Designer from Phialdelphia, PA. I strive for the best in my work and I don't stop until I reach perfection. Dedicated, energetic, and detail oriented are just some of the words I use to describe myself. Here is a little info to help you get a better understanding of my work and me. Since I graduated college in 2012, I have had the privilege to work at or for several different companies that each utilized a different skill in my repertoire. I've worked as a visual effects artist for a feature film at Brolik Productions and in the fast paced environment of television at NBC Sports. I also started a motion graphics company with two of my college friends called Three Piece Suit Productions. We have done work for companies such as Brolik, Lady White Entertainment, and MM Agency for clients such as AOL, Monster Math Club, Reality Sports Online, and a national bank (Curse those NDAs!) My work is done in After Effects blended with assets made in Illustrator or Photoshop. I am eager to work on this project with you. Creating short, thought provoking, and entertaining animations is my bread and butter. I've included a link to my demoreel in this cover letter. COVER LETTER I am a creative writer in every sense. Inspired by anything that has the ability to trigger off my emotions. I feel and think differently to the majority finding inspiration from everyday situations. I appreciate triumph and honour but respect passion and true creativity. I enjoy words in any form e.g. songs, poems, monologues or speeches. As long as they exercise emotion by pin pointing the areas that evokes human feelings. I like intelligence that has been cleverly designed to look straight-forward. This can be found in witty comedy e.g. Russell brand’s. I also find this amongst newspaper headlines and within good movies. In my spare time I do photography and have studied film. Being an ex-film student I find myself watching a lot of films and TV shows. Studying both of these subjects has helped me to see the imagination that goes into them. Photography in terms of posters and artworks e.g. album covers is very imaginative and sometimes complicated. Having attempted these artworks I understand the imagination involved. With TV shows I am inspired by the imagination in my favourite show Buffy the vampire slayer and shows like it such as Angel, Heroes and Doll House. these shows stand out to me because of the creative dialogue and their ability to go beyond the normal conventions into something that involves an impressive amount of imagination.
