I am an African American female who has been writing for over ten years. I have a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Shenandoah University’s Harry F. Byrd accredited business school. I would like to gain my MFA in Creative Writing in the near future. To gain the experience in the writing industry I could not gain as a business student I became an active staff writer for WomanScope NewsMagazine. In the past I personally chose New York Times best-selling novels, written by female authors, to review for the monthly magazine. Presently, I am the author of several articles that are dedicated to raising awareness about consumer scams and threats. I am an activist against violence through the event I co-started as a college student entitled The Glass Breaking Project: Breaking the Silence About Violence. This organization provided an avenue for young women and men to come together as a community and openly communicate the violence of their pasts. TGBP was not only a glass breaking event, but it was also an educational experience. We showed that violence, unfortunately, is a gray area that is not outwardly projected to the community so we supplied statistics of campus and community violence wherever we were fortunate enough to speak - we were guest speakers for a Woman's Conference in New Haven, Connecticut, and we were also able to take TGBP on the road to other college campuses such as Wilson College in Pennsylvania. TGBP is endorsed by Angela Shelton - Hollywood screenwriter of Tumbleweeds and many upcoming TV projects. My true passion is in screenwriter, TV writing, and fiction. I completed my first full-length screenplay entitled Heaven and Hell: The Battle of Angels & Demons - logline: An Angel of War travels all over the world recruiting humans for an epic fight – the battle of Angels and Demons. I have entered the script in numerous screenwriting competitions such as: The Nicholl Fellowship, Script Pipeline, PAGE Awards (as well as their site for Production Arts Group), and Zoetrope. As a TV writer I am competed for a spot in California based writing programs for Warner Brothers, CBS, and Nickelodeon. I wrote several television episodes for The Vampire Diaries and iCarly. I completed my first novel entitled Days in Nantucket, and I am working on another story centered around the mythology of vampires. Even though I have been writing for years, I am still new to the writing industry. I am fortunate enough to have one foot in the door, but I am open to new experiences and new assignments.
