I've been working as a freelance writer and editor for the past ten years, in addition to teaching Language Arts, History and E.S.L. at the middle school, high school, community college and university level (not all at the same place!). For four years, I was the Editor-in-Chief of SuperConsciousness Magazine, an international quarterly publication. My favorite part of that job was getting to interview an amazing and diverse array of people, from Robert Kennedy Jr. to humorist Dave Barry, from Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman to mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner. I've also written and/or edited articles, websites, marketing materials and a book. Currently I work part time as the Communications and Outreach Manager for The Phoenix Rising School, a non-profit organization in Rainier, Washington. I am always looking for interesting and worthwhile projects to lend my particular talents to. See my resume below. Heidi Andrea Smith 22021 Elbow Lake Rd. I will not lie, I am not a professional. I am a beginner and eager to learn and improve my skills. I currently am in a backwater town where paying positions are few and far between, so, I am considering all avenues. I'd love to turn my hobby of drawing and writing into something more, so I thought I'd start here. I don't have any formal qualifications, but I am looking forward to gaining experience and getting advice.

I am illustrating the stories all my life, first it was my own stories, then stories made by the kids I worked with. Love to do this kind of job, and willing to help authors to pictorialize their stories. I worked with the kids, and was reading to them lots of books, that's gave me a good vision of the kind of drawings, children would like to see in the books.

I have been an attorney, writer and script consultant in LA for more than a decade. I have provided feedback / coverage on screenplays and TV scripts for production companies around the world, including the USA, UK, Australia, India, France, Spain and Singapore. I am currently writing original thriller script GET AWAY with Circle of Confusion, who produces the hit TV series THE WALKING DEAD. and whose clients include the writers of THE CONJURING (Warner Bros), INSURGENT (Lionsgate), THE MATRIX, AFTER EARTH (directed by M. Night Shyamalan), PROMETHEUS (directed by Ridley Scott), THE MUMMY (starring Tom Cruise), STAR TREK BEYOND, DEEP WATER HORIZON (Starring Mark Wahberg), THE SHALLOWS (Sony / Columbia), and PASSENGERS (starring Jennifer Lawrence). Zach Cox, a manager at Circle of Confusion, described my script GET AWAY as follows: "Overall a good script with a wondeful pace and you write prose very well". My previous screenplays include supernatural thrillers FEAR PLAY and SHADES OF DEATH. FEAR PLAY received interest from producer Corey Sienega (Kristy, Seed of Chucky), Kailey Marsh (creator of the BLOOD LIST), Ben Forkner (co-produced THE GALLOWS with Jason Blum for Warner Bros) and Zero Gravity Management, who described my script as "Well-written and engaging". SHADES OF DEATH received interest from Circle of Confusion, Zero Gravity Management, Magnet Management and MXN Entertainment (who represent Diablo Cody). As for short films, I served as script consultant on BLACK SALT, which won the Cinemax / HBO action short film contest. My original short film script, THE GOOD LUCK CHARM, won first place (out of 300 entries) in a script contest conducted by award-winning LA production company Palm Street Films, who offered to purchase and produce the script for submission to film festivals. THE GOOD LUCK CHARM also received interest from production companies in Atlanta and Canada.
