I am currently the editor of la demur magazine and finishing up ghost writing for another client. I have been a writer all my life but it really took off when I won an essay contest required by all seniors in my high school called "What Memorial Day Means to Me". Out of 200 entries, I won first place and moved from poetry to essay writing. I majored in Communications in college with a concentration in writing and had a 3.4 GPA in my major. I became an amateur photographer after I had my first child but have really built on that and become highly proficient at it. I also run my own business making jewelry which has become quite popular. I also set up and wrote all the blog entries for www.everydaycouponing.com. I have started writing my first book and am taking it slow utilizing writing conferences, writing classes and books on writing. I have a library of writing books that would make your chin drop.

Having a number of relatives that were artists, some well known, I suppose I inherited the desire to draw and paint. Being born into an artistic family provided my first art schooling; my father was a professional wildlife artist and so I was learning early on. As a teenager I attended community college art classes. After my naval enlistment I attended college at the University of Minnesota with Design Communication as my major and an emphasis on art history. People and animals are my preferred subject matter. My artwork is usually descriptive of my personal experiences and surroundings, hence, my subject matter is most often a part of rural Minnesota lifestyle: horses, hunting dogs, wildlife, hunting, fishing, team roping, and farm life. I do appreciate art that draws upon what we cannot copy from our surroundings and for that reason I am compelled to delve into fantasy art as well. This is an area I would enjoy working in more. I have been employed as a commercial artist and now work freelance. I have experience with diverse mediums including watercolor, acrylic, oil, pencil, charcoal, and pen and ink. I also sculpt and have done some large scale murals. Most of my paintings are owned by individuals, however, I have done a number of murals and sculptures that are on permanent public display. These can be seen at the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth, Minnesota; the Detroit Science Center in Michigan; the Minnesota State Fair Grounds, and the Minnesota Science Museum. My art work was also chosen for the 2005 Minnesota Trout Stamp.

CURRICULUM VITAE NAME: Charlotte Elizabeth Rogers DATE OF BIRTH: 8th August 1988 PLACE OF BIRTH: Bridgend, Wales NATIONALITY: Welsh EDUCATION: University of St Andrews, St Andrews, Fife (2006-2010) MA (Hons) Classical Studies and English (2:1) Dissertation: Postnormality: the posthuman mind and identity in William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy, in which I considered a cycle of identity, from human to posthuman, and the possibility of two identities existing simultaneously, in parallel with two realities. In addressing issues of both science fiction and contemporary fiction such as the human and the other, reality vs. unreality and the necessary evolution of terms such as 'normality' to allow for an ever-evolving society, I developed skills such as close analysis of both fiction and non-fiction texts, independent and extensive research to produce an original and structured 10,000-word dissertation, and undertook limited but productive meetings with a supervisor in which I was able to concisely discuss my plans for the project, including outlining my argument and discussing the progress of the final piece. This project also gave me the opportunity to engage in a lengthy process of editing, which allowed me to develop my ability to work with longer pieces of writing and further my experience with self-motivated deadlines and alterations.
