Laura Bushinski's love for illustration stems from her love of storytelling. She grew up surrounded by neighbors and loved ones who would weave magic with words and pictures, enchanting Laura with tales of their ancestors and folklore from their old country. After receiving a certificate in Commercial Art from the CTC of Lackawanna County in high school, Laura went on to receive her AFA in Art, from Keystone College, followed by her BFA in Illustration from Moore College of Art & Design where she also graduated summa *** laude. Her work has been published by Spider Magazine and has been featured in the Philadelphia Sketch Club's Phillustration show. Romantic, detailed imagery, fairy tales, and folklore is where her heart and pencil is happiest. She draws inspiration from nature, history, world cultures, and her favorite artists; Mucha, Waterhouse, Rackham, and the Pre-Raphelites to name a few. Laura is also a tea-fanatic, and can often be found brewing a cup or two while re-reading Jane Eyre or The Secret Garden on her kindle.
