An identity describes the mission of your business and who stands behind it. I take great pride in delivering quality branding based on design thinking, research and analysis. I create work that I can stand behind, allowing...

Artist Statement I am an artist because as an artist I have the freedom to create. Creating things is fascinating to me. It involves bringing something into existence that is original, and I like that by producing something original I am contributing to the progression of thoughts and ideas. I find it interesting that each of my creations carry a very personal element, an extension of myself; and that these extensions can be where I am not, and therefore will continue on longer than I will. I also revel in the sensory responses I experience when painting, drawing, sculpting or printmaking. I enjoy the physical movements, the relationships between colours and the tactile experiences that come with textures. My work bears evidence of the joy that I have when creating it. I explore and express the human experience, experiment with the properties of materials and natural laws, as well as bringing new life and purpose to discarded materials.

I've literally been an artist since I could hold a crayon. I love all mediums, I even wanted to explore graffiti, but never got around to that one. Drawing was my first love....drawing...whether it was with a pencil, pen, pastels or charcoal. For what ever reason, I was always drawn to people. A lot of my early work, in school was drawing and illustrating people. Painting was a forbidden world to me, until my emotions got the best of me...and the paints were there, a canvas...and I had invested in an easel. So I finally let go of my fear of painting, in 2006. I started with Acrylics and now I also work with Watercolor. I plan to add oils to this list asap! One of my many goals in life, is to continue to grow & become more skilled as a Fine Artist and Illustrator, which will definitely come in time. Shanda S. Hello, I'm Tara. I graduated from Marywood University with a BA in Art Education with a concentration in Illustration. I work primarily in graphic novels, but I am not opposed to working on children's books or picture books. I leave that open because the style that I work in is appealing to both children and adults. Though most of the work to date has been self-published, I recently finished a comic for an anthology that will be released before the end of this year, "Unite and Take Over: Comic Stories Inspired by the Smiths". By late next year, I will have two other comics printed for anthologies, "The Way We Sleep", for Curbside Splendor Press, and "I Was A Teenage Gargoyle", for Sawdust Press. You can find a good chunk of my work at my portfolio site: http://www.tarabba.com. It's almost always updating with new artwork and comics. There you can find galleries of my illustrations, a little preview of my first self-published comic, "Puddles", and one-shot comics done for various websites or personal projects.
