INPO/Nantel Corporate Clients as Freelancer Cartoon Network Intel Simply Interactive Verizon Wireless NY ACLU Kaiser Permanente AT&T Software 3D Animation Autodesk Maya 2012 Blender 3D Animation / Video After Effects CS5.5 Flash Professional CS5.5 Premiere Pro CS5.5 Motion 3 Final Cut Studio Digital DesignTools Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator Corel Painter Alias Sketchbook Pro Career Highlights INPO August 2010-January 2011 Animation / Interactive Designer INPO allowed me to step into the role of a art director and lead designer for two separate product suites. During my first project with INPO my project manager presented me with the challenge of developing a 30 minute interactive training program in the style of a cd-rom point and click adventure. Working from a script developed to highlight interactivity and narration I created all of the visual assets from original designs to customized off the shelf resources. The software pipeline included Flash, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Autodesk Maya with final deployment as a flash web application. The final launch of the respiratory protection training program was a success, increasing completion rates over 8 points. INPO was impressed enough with my delivery and skill set to offer me a chance to tackle a larger project with a more hands on role in the development of interactive activities and visual design of a program addressing cyber security awareness. Specifically cyber security for nuclear power sites in the United States and abroad. The duration of the cyber project spanned over nine months. I was instrumental in the design phase creating the look and feel of the new course from the ground up. The goal was to create a professional looking interface that was modular and easy to approach from an end user perspective. The greatest challenge was developing a production pipeline that could accommodate audio script changes on the fly and replacement of assets as needed. The most rewarding aspect was acquiring new skills in 3D modeling and design. The launch of the cyber package was a success and my role as a design lead helped create a production package that can be utilized to create new content as needed in the dynamic area of cyber security. Cartoon Network Digital November 2009-March 2010 http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/adventuretime/index.html#/chars Lead Animator for Cartoon Networks’ online launch of Adventure Time with Finn and Jake. This remote project from the studio in NY allowed me explore my interest in interactive media development and gain an working knowledge of the unique animation workflow required for games. I was responsible for acting and emotion of three of the lead characters from PBS KIDS’ Cyberchase, creating dynamic and character driven performances from a variety of dialogue tracks that would simulate a living character onscreen. B3and Co / Decemeber 2008- June 2010 http://www.b3andco.com/ Contract Freelance via Dualbo Interactive Animation I was responsible for handling breakdown, formatting, and animation of digital avatars for interactive in-store employee training software. We utilized Adobe Flash as a development and deployment environment to give the client access to a dynamic and resource rich training environment. The final products would be outfitted to apply to various national retail outlets including Anne Taylor and J. Crew. Verizon Wireless/ July-August, 2008 Light-box Studios, Llc / Dualbo, Inc Character Design/ Sequence Illustration The work with Verizon pertained to working with a director to match the style and direction of rough boards that demonstrated composition and timing for the animated sequences. My job was to finalize full color renderings of the characters and props to be composite with the final background illustrations. Intel-Lenovo/ April-July, 2008 Light-box Studios, Llc / Dualbo, Inc Character Design/ Animation Background Design I designed original characters and backgrounds for three separate spots. Each spot centered on an Olympic sporting event. Pitting the Intel team against an opposing team representing Intel competitors. The designs I provided needed to invoke a modern stylized rendering of characters that have a graphic approach to design yet could be easily animated in flash. All of the designs I completed were created and submitted using flash. Kaiser Permanente/ May-July, 2008 Light-box Studios, Llc / Dualbo, Inc Character Design/ Character Animation/ Animation Background Design. I designed original characters backgrounds for animated introductions to an online flash game. The designs I provided needed to invoke a modern stylized rendering of characters that have a graphic approach to design yet could be easily animated in flash. All of the designs I completed were created and submitted using flash. Awesome Inc./ December, 2006-January, 2007 Cartoon Network Foster’s Home for imaginary Friends Interstitials Animation Direction/ Storyboarding/ Character Animation A series of seven commercial Interstitials needed to complete within a deadline of four weeks from storyboarding to final animation. I was in charge of implementing a roadmap and division of labor to complete each thirty second spot. After working with the production supervisor I suggested that rough animation layout completed in flash would be the best way to plan out the action for each spot based on the supplied scripts for the client. The overall work was broken up between three story artists that were to take the script and flesh out the sequence of action. I completed storyboards for three of the seven spots. Once the storyboards were reviewed they were synced with the supplied dialogue audio tracks and timed for final animation. The final animation was completed within the last two and a half weeks of the production schedule. Radical Axis/ July, 2006-Septemeber,2006 Harvey Birdman Cooper Mini Commercial Character Animation/ Resource Acquisition Comedy Central’s: Freakshow Character Animation/ Resource Acquisition My duties on the production of Freakshow were to complete final pieces of character animation as dictated by the Supervising Director and Animation director of the series. I would retrieve initial flash files from the data server. These files would include roughly drawn storyboard panels and audio dialogue tracks. As a staff character animator I would use these rough templates to layout the final line drawings in Key frames using macromedia flash and a WACOM digital interface. These layout keys would then be submitted to the animation supervisor for quality control and initial approval. After receiving directing notes I would continue to complete the final animation. Final animation was completed on average 15 seconds per week, and reviewed by the animation supervisor and director. My work on the Mini Cooper commercial comprised of me receiving finished storyboards from the director of the commercial along with the audio track. The timed storyboards functioned as a guide for all of the final line art and animation that I completed for the final cut of the commercial. I maintain a prose and information blog called Diabetic Redemption and a poetry blog called The Sun Drips Honey, the URLs for which are available in this profile. My most pertinent proofreading position was with TRW Electronics in Colorado Springs, 1985-87. I proofread test documents, manuals, and some drawings. I proofread for a project manager, as administrator for his project. I used word-processing and proofing, preparing client proposals for the executive vice president of Key Bank of Maine. I served as case manager at the Eastern Maine AIDS Network, in an underfunded office, where I maintained all confidential client records. I love to write, but I also love the intricacies of punctuation and grammar, (both dying arts, themselves.) I would bring unique skills to your project. Thank you for considering my qualifications.
