Cyril Sweets Associate Director Lead CDMC UK. Lead Safety Manager 2006 - 2008 Leading a team of 27 persons throughout UK ensuring corporate procedures and legal compliance throughout the structure. To reduce the risk of injury and promote job safety, many organisations we have to establish safety policies. We produced a study and gap audit to establish the areas of need and included a trend survey to indicate risk value. This study examined the presumed benefits of safety policies and the roles of two organizational variables (supervisor safety support and employee safety control) on safety outcomes and satisfaction with the company. Results showed that quality of the execution of corporate safety policies, supervisor safety support, and employee safety control play critical roles in predicting both injury incidence and satisfaction with the company. These findings highlight the importance of integrating both organisational safety policies and relevant organisational constructs to improve corperatel safety. Bluebell Hill Rail tunnel The moment will mark a milestone in construction of the 3.2km tunnel - the UK's first high-speed rail tunnel - over 100m below Bluebell Hill at the central point in the tunnel. The 13m wide, 10m high single bore tunnel which starts from Boxley Valley north of Maidstone and emerges alongside the M2 south of Chatham is being constructed with a sprayed concrete lining similar to that used on the troubled Heathrow Express project. Network Rail Southeastern Line Ore Tunnel Repairs CDMC The work is taking place to improve the drainage and repair the lining inside to prevent water seepage. At the same time other work including upgrading points and signals to improve reliability, and the maintenance of bridges and tracks that could lead to higher line speeds will also be taking place. This work requires the closure of the line between Hastings and Ashford. Heathrow Airport Tunnels Refurbishment - CDMC The cargo tunnel is bi-directional; it has one bore, carrying one lane in each direction. Each lane is 12 ft (3.7 m) wide, with a clear height of 16 ft 6 in (5.03 m). The tunnel consists of approximately 625 m (684 yd) of circular bored tunnel plus 130 m (140 yd) of rectangular cut-and-cover tunnel at each end. Its total length is 885 m (968 yd). The bored tunnel segments are precast concrete, with a 33 ft 9 in (10.29 m) internal diameter and 12 in (30 cm) thick. The segments are expanded directly against the ground, which is London Clay. The bored section of the cargo tunnel is notable among tunneling engineers, for having been constructed with a remarkably thin cover of solid clay above it (minimum cover 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) clay beneath the Terrace gravels). Brookson Engineering 1984 - 1993 Southend Sewage Treatment plant - Safety Manager Sewages and industrial effluents are complex liquors mainly comprised of water with varying amounts of a wide range of other substances dispersed throughout their bulk. These impurities vary greatly in both chemical and physical properties. No two sewages and industrial effluents are exactly alike, and a single sewage or effluent varies in composition continually. The impurities also vary greatly in their polluting effect should they be allowed to enter a water course. So it is important that we understand the nature of sewages and industrial effluents to enable assessments to be made of such things as polluting substances present and degree of treatment necessary. Treatment processes for sewages and industrial effluents have been developed specifically to deal with the various types of polluting substances present. It is therefore very necessary for reasons of plant design, efficient plant operation and treated effluent quality control, to understand the nature of raw sewages and industrial effluents Divisional Safety Advisor, ConocoPhillips Responsible for safety activities associated with White Oils, Aromatics, and Fluid Catalytic Cracking areas of the Humber Refinery. Sewage Plant Colchester, Essex - CDMC Design began in 2010 Anglian Water treated the wastewater from an equivalent residential population of six million. This resulted in the plant at Colchester needing an upgrade to improve their capacity: a grand total of nine glass-fused-to-steel tanks were designed, manufactured and constructed by an in-house team, all complete with GFS and GRP roofs. The project also included one 1,580m³ BIODOME® double membrane gas holder and access steelwork with a 12m high staircase leading to a 22m long walkway providing access to the roofs of four HPH tanks. The sewerage treatment works is now capable of handling the high level of sludge piped directly to the site and also sludge brought in from other facilities in the area. Thanks to the anaerobic digestion process now in place the plant will be able to make use of the biogas produced during the sludge treatment process. The BIODOME® gas holder will hold and treat the biogas until its ready to be transferred in the combined heat and power engines where it will be converted into renewable energy and released to the national grid. London River wall Defense Works CDMC The key element of this project was an absolute deadline for construction and adherence to environmental agreements. A well-written summary, profile or business overview typically features story as an undercurrent; an overall feel that invokes the character of a person, business or initiative. This is where brand can be found, and drawing it out is my strength. I find a way to tease out whatever story needs to be told to make content persuasive, compelling and substantive. In this sense I consider myself a midwife to narrative. My process is highly osmotic. I can take jumbled notes, bedraggled drafts, convoluted thoughts and half-baked ideas and find a way to make sense of them – in a way that is true to the message at hand. Whatever stage your project is in, I can work with it. I'm a soon to be 36 year old "illustrater in progress". At has been my passion since I was a very young child. I remember an at teacher of mine in elementary school taking great interest in my work as a student. Always going beyond the"box" and mixing imagination and creativity in EVERY task assigned. I always had a knack for being the unique charm to any projects assigned and the student always somehow over achieving the plot to each and every simple set of standards asked. At of ask shirts had been a passion from the heart as long as I can remember. I've searched for my calling in life as far as occupancies tho no avail. I've heard far to many people whom have seen many of my works or projects, say to me that I'm wasting my talents. Although I've never quite understood how anything so soothing and heart-felt as well as used as frequently as I've come to do so, could be considered "wasted" at ask!! But, I've since realized that considering the fact that my grandfather once told me, "If you find a job you love, you'll never have to work a day in your life", I've searched for that sort of peace of mind ever since! That being said, in my mind that kind of joy can only come from the gift of creativity that I was blessed to have and I've decided to go on a journey seeking the job I'm certain I could die happily saying that I've done the things I've loved and fulfilled one of the many dreams I had hoped to accomplish, if I'm able to find a job in drawing, illustrating, and creating. Please consider the passion I hold for just such a thing, would also serve s my vow to always give my best and dedicate my heart and loyalty to always! Thank you so very much for your time! Have a beautiful evening! ??
