Music Experience Corey “Mr. Nathan” Johnson is a dynamic artist whose skills as a trumpet player, singer, songwriter and producer will show that he is definitely inspired in his musical experience. Originally from Cleveland Ohio, his father played trumpet and led worship at church services while his mother played piano. His parents encouraged him to pursue the trumpet as a primary instrument and take private lessons. Soon he was playing for school bands, citywide youth orchestras, marching bands, and various jazz ensembles and was involved with brass chamber groups established by the Cleveland Institute of Music for youth. Corey was also involved in annual solo and ensemble contests in northeast Ohio while playing trumpet for the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony. Corey Johnson continued on to play for the Ohio State Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble for two years. He also established, performed and composed for many freelance bands during Columbus Ohio community events, company banquets, and weddings. Corey has traveled the country performing, playing and leading worship for major conferences, performed on B.E.T Gospel, was featured in the 2006 Midwest Urban Music conference for independent artists and is constantly performing at various musical cafés and venues.
