I am a 58 year old, unemployed mother of 2 grown-up sons. I have been practising and working in the field of fine art for the past 10 years or so. I exhibit my work, which is currently reverse painting on perspex at Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town. I have exhibited in many galleries in Cape Town over the years which have shown my landscapes and abstract work in oil on canvas. I have no formal art qualification but am largely self-taught, having attended many life-drawing and portrait classes and workshops. I am a member of S.A.S.A ( the South African Society of Artists) and have participated in many of their juried exhibitions. This year I was part of their Merit Exhibition, which is only open to the top 40 artists in the group, which currently numbers over 500 members. In my lifetime I have had varied careers, ranging from teaching, to Medical Technology to running a music business! I have many interests and talents, having had to adapt to changing circumstances and bringing up children. My paper qualifications are a B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) with a Higher Education Diploma (N.H.E.D)and a Medical Technology Diploma. (dip. Med Tech) I have served on various committees and have also been involved in Lifeline and other charity organisations, helping to raise funds.
