Hi. My name is Duma Thwala, and I'm a young, upcoming, innovative and creative, award winning designer with international recognition. Having graduated with a Diploma in graphic design, I have gone in pursuit of a career in freelancing, and am currently absorbed in that endeavour. As a student and a professional, I have had some success in numerous design competitions over the years, namely: Student Goldpack 2009 and the Eco Design Initiative 2010, for more details see the 'competitions' page. As a result of this I have received mention in numerous publications, such as: Packaging Review, IPSA (Institute for Packaging South Africa), iFashion, Nokak, and WPO (World Packaging Organisation) Worldstar Student. I have also learned leadership skills by being elected as part of the SDASM VUT executive two years running. I served as project coordinator in 2007 and as Chairperson in 2008. During my years as a freelance designer, I've had the privilege to work with wonderful clients which I enjoyed dealing with, and have subsequently formed great relationships. I am passionate about what I do, and I am continuously looking for opportunities to work on projects, which gives me an opportunity to come up with great design solutions and at the same time deliver client satisfaction.

I just love drawing and creating art that allows me to be me. My most favorite past time has turned into a business of sales and more customers. I went to art school on a scholarship way back when wacom, mac, and all of the available software were not heard of. I made silk screen T-shirts for high school activity clubs, posters with paint etc. I even made a pirates head out of clay which turned out very nice., it was stolen by art teacher! It goes on and on, probably very similar stories to a few of you excelling artist out there in the art world. This will be five years of marketing and selling my stuff! I call it that because its really what I do, create good stuff that clients want for personal and business needs. It fits their atti-tuudz no matter what the request may be it all talks back on canvas, cards and painting. this is my world and I am still learing a lot from most of you out there. If you do not use your talent I believe you will lose it! So happy creating and let your spirit hand run free!
