I have worked through the ranks of a weekly newspaper for the past 8 years. I am the journalist, photographer, graphics designer, and now copy editor and designer. My first love for the job was the writing and designing of it and that remains to be true to this day. The newspaper itself is small and covers the happenings of a population 700 city. I cover any events from writing about the local town board to the school's high school basketball team. I also was recently selected by a drug and alcohol program to be their event photographer based upon my past performance with them this year and the photographic results they desired. I have been a practicing artist for about 20 years working in many different mediums. I was a participating artist of "Courage Unmasked" a series of art shows around Central Ohio to help benefit head and neck cancer at The James Cancer Hospital at OSU. The benefit partnered cancer survivors with artists and we used their radiation masks for art. All of these art endeavors take place while I teach middle school art full-time in Worthington, Ohio. I teach Watercolor Painting, Ceramics, Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Drawing,etc..... I have been an Art teacher for 18-19 years and have taught in Ohio and also three countries overseas, as well as, been a Supervisor for Student Teachers at The Ohio State University. Greetings! I am entering my 16th year of teaching English in MInnesota public schools. Throughout this time I have seen and graded/edited literally thousands of student papers. Additonally, for the past five years I have been teaching a freshman composition course from the University of Minnesota - Duluth via the College in the Schools (CITS) program.
