"Eagle-eyed" is an apt phrase for Kia & her editorial skills. Kiakiali is a Native American word meaning "eagle," and Kia exhibits her namesake animal's keen sight capturing typos and grammar mishaps, like the small rodents they are, and also utilizing her sharp vision to comprehend the concepts and direction of your writing with one quick read. After a stint as the editor & reporter for WORDsd.com, where she interviewed renowned local author David Brin, among many noteables, Kia worked as an editor for an online publishing company, copy-edited the website & all materials for a San Diego based tutoring business & has been a free-lance editor for more years than she cares to admit. Kiakiali has over 2 decades of editorial experience in every genre of fiction to many in non-fiction. Since 1995, Kia has been facilitating writers' groups, read & critiques and providing many other services to writers in the Los Angeles area, Northern Virginia and currently in San Diego's North County. Kia is affiliated with various writing communities throughout San Diego County, such as A Word With You Press & its Club House in Oceanside & PWSD & Writer's Ink, as well as many smaller local groups of writers. She reads at open mics at the Club House, E-Street Cafe & Ducky Waddles, has participated in the Full Moon Poet's Slam at the La Paloma and attends various other read & critiques. Kia has served as a judge for the San Diego Book Awards and books she edited have been nominated, as well. Kia facilitates a writers' group in Encinitas and a Healing Through Writing workshop in Carlsbad. Currently she is accepting participants for both an Artist's Way and Walking in This World workshop. She has limited openings for private editorial clients. Most recently, she won first place in A Word With You Press' "One Tight Write" Contest with a write off entry summing up a life in 50 words.

Todd Desautels is a highly talented multi-medium artist. Dubbed ‘Jack of All Visual Arts’ by his peers, Todd is an accomplished illustrator, painter, award winning pumpkin carver, and published air brush artist. Carving pumpkins since 1988, he helped to establish a very successful seasonal pumpkin show with neighborhood friends. He co-founded 11th Hour Productions with life long friend Angela Faneuf in 2006, to produce a large scale pumpkin festival, which drew nearly 18,000 visitors in it’s first year. In 2013 Eleventh Hour Productions evolved to become 11th Hour Farming Artists. In addition to producing the popular seasonal pumpkin festival, 11thHour began growing pumpkins organically as medium for their displays, as well as organic heirloom vegetables, which they sell to local restaurants. The Farming Artists is the current evolution of farming, art and cooperative passion with the addition of the talented and knowledgeable plant enthusiast, Jonathan Hart. Now located in Blue Hill, ME on 133 acres of forest and farm just off the coast. Todd is a graduate of the Mass Dept. of Agricultural Resources Small Farm Business Course and also helped to establish the cooperatively organized Antiquinox Productions, co producing several successful transformational festivals, which included music, circus arts, and local artist vendors.
