I have been involved in one form of art or another since childhood. Whether it was drawing portraits or caricatures of friends or painting the things I saw in my head, putting together several issues of my high school 'zine, writing songs, stories and poetry or designing gig fliers for my band, I naturally gravitated towards creative pursuits. After receiving a B.A. in English from San Diego State University, I pursued a full-time career in tattooing and body piercing. 6 1/2 years later, after a brief stint as a visual merchandiser for a Macy's flagship store, I packed up and moved to Los Angeles to attend Sound Engineering School. When I received my certification, I had fallen down a rabbit hole of "doing the predictably responsible thing" and became involved in office administration, which led to bookkeeping--totally left brain activities! After serving as the Deputy Clerk for a tiny Alaskan town in the Aleutians, and living in several warehouses in East Oakland (surrounded by artists, but working as a financial administrator), I relocated to Austin, Texas. Again, I found myself in an administrative position, with a great group of folks......but something was missing. When the company lost funding, I was, in the blink of an eye, out of a job. Back at square one, I realized that I hadn't been doing the things I was born to do. I decided to recommit to my higher purpose: to create! I sketch, draw portraits, caricatures, tattoo designs, cartoons and comics, gig posters and other miscellany. I paint in oils and acrylics and will sometimes use watercolor to achieve a certain look. I am a published writer who is available for small or large projects as well as creative editing. I have also continued my involvement in music and am currently working on a project as a vocalist and songwriter. It is my pleasure and privilege to use my skills to help others achieve their vision.
